If you are not a contractor don't waste your time here. I think DIYers are mostly unwelcome. Home Depot is cheaper, faster, higher quality with better organization & customer service respect. I have tried 3x in the last 60 days it's just not worth my time to deal with the desk staff.
Bit of a hassle grabbing wood from the back but the check out guys are great and theres people to help
The window & door selection & installation folks are the only group at Moynihan that welcome non-trade civilian customers and they seem well organized & ready to work w you. The rest of the store lumber, hardware, tools make it quite clear that, if your not a tradesman, your not welcome there. For the latter categories, there are plenty of other area lumber yards w quality stock that welcome DIYers before you need to stoop to Home Depot.
Worst lumber I've ever been to!!! Treated really bad and pass lots of people in front of me on the line to order! Don’t go to this lumber special if you are an immigrant like me! They don’t treat you well.
Absolutely awful organizational skills, customer service, knowledgeable on materials and policies!! First issue was receiving unbelievably awful customer service while shopping and picking out decking. The sales person was less knowledgeable on decking than I was. Luckily my husband basically did his job for him and then went to place the order based off my husbands math, finding the product ordering details and handing over the information to the sales person. They then took our 9k and told us it should be delivered in June. It is now July, and we called to find out about our order only then to be told “hmm somehow this order was never placed.” BUT they had no problem cashing in the 9k already!!! I then am told that if they placed that order now, I wouldn’t get the product until September. Or I can come in and pick out another product with less of a wait time. Well, I then head there to get this straightened out only to pull in to a “closed for inventory“ sign!!!! I called to ask if I can just see a few color choices and was told no. They are closed for 5 hours and will be open tomorrow! Are you kidding me?!? You have poor customer service, forgot to place an order, took 9k and won’t correct the issue in a timely manner!! I have never been so angry with a small business!
Great place to do business! People are friendly, helpful, and they have gone the extra mile to help me get what I need. Highly recommend this place.
People who know what they are talking about cost more then homedepot but FAR better lumber
I’ve been coming to Moynihan Lumber since I was a kid, well over 20 years now, being involved with family business. It’s my go to for lumber, doors and specialty items. Front desk is always alert and informative. The guys upstairs that do estimating are more than responsive. Moynihan Lumber always meets and/or exceeds my expectations whether it be a small purchase or a large special order. I’d like to say personally I am especially thankful for Mark Spicer at the front desk. His knowledge on products and ETA’s on orders is what every customer and contractor looks for. He gets the job done. He’s my first go to for anything over there. It’s always a great experience. Special thanks to everyone else serving the community as well… Eli, Ron, Chris,,, Jim and Joe up in estimating, Kim and Steve in windows and doors, Big Joe in Millwork, Joe and Steph in kitchen and bath, dispatch, all the guys in the yard, even Bill at the gate,,, all of which make for an excellent time and a pleasurable experience. Keep on keeping on guys, be strong, be courageous!!! Thank you for your time and your service.
I worked with Mike Russo at Moynihan, and could not be happier with my experience. He was very patient showing me around the showroom where allowed, which was not an easy task amidst a pandemic. He responded or followed up with any and all questions I had too many, and diligently took time to quote out several options for me to meet my budget and vision. Thank you Mike for such a wonderful customer experience!
