Over 3 million students on US college campuses struggle financially to get into or through college. Up to 15% of students drop out because of financials, while others downgrade their education to make ends meet.

MPOWER Financing is committed to removing financial barriers to higher education in the US. To accomplish this mission, MPOWER partners with universities and investors to lend to high-potential students who are left out by traditional banks. In addition to providing students with access to the financial resources necessary to attend and complete college, MPOWER builds students’ credit histories, provides them with personal finance education, and offers essential financial products to prepare them for life after college.

Most horrible customer service experience ever. My application was being processed for MONTHS, when I was urging them to let me know where am I in the process, they kept saying somebody will reach out to me about what else is needed, NEVER received any calls/emails back. Wasted time, and wasted credit check. Absolutely don’t recommend. I ended up going with a competitor and had 1000% better experience- my loan was processed and approved within days and I always heard back when I needed anything.
MPOWER literally saved myself from getting deported back to my country... Last spring, I really needed money to pay for my tuition fees and could not find any help from anyone. I did not know what to do and I almost gave up and wanting to go back to my country and skip a semester because I could not register for my classes until I pay my tuition. I prayed very hard to God to help me in this situation and God helped me through MPOWER when I was doing the internet search. At first, I though this is a fake website and had difficulty trusting this company. However, after visiting them in the office in Washington D.C, I knew this company is legit and trusworthy because I talked to the staffs and they were so kind to assist me at 8 am in the morning!... Everything works 100% online All you need to do is go to their website, set an account and apply the loan online... if you want your loan to get approved fast, you NEED to call the customer service everyday. I called them 3 or 4 times a day and within 2 weeks, my loan got approved! I remember there's one time I used to call them, 7 times a day. Just follow up with them and call and call and call.. DONT GIVE UP! The customer service person is super helpful, patient and understanding.. The loan will come quicky as you contact them more frequently. I had 48K of loan in total and it saved my life. It is something that I will always remember and be grateful and thankful for having MPOWER to be willing to help fund international students. Thank you so much, MPOWER.
They took months to give me a loan decision,I later learnt they don't finance Women they prefer Male customers ,They deliberately frustrate Female applicants.Notice the Gender praising them in this Reviews.
As an Idea it's the most interesting and mandatory especially for those International students who don't have a U.S credit history, cosigner or collateral to attended further education especially for graduate schooland advance their career in the United states or Canada. Eventhough the international student loan without collateral or cosigner is great method the fact it's still in Baby step is undeniable. I gave it 3 because of the way of communication is not fast. I will change my rating if the issue is corrected.
Worst lender institution. They are slow in answering requests. i have been trying to reach them for two weeks with the school. If you have urgent payments i don’t recommend this lender
Horrible experience. Applied for a loan here back in April, somebody emailed me back once. I told them that I had until August to get funds dispersed to continue my education and received an email that they would try to expedite my document review. After that, nobody emailed me back resulting in an expired application after I emailed them multiple times. I went to the actual building in person during hours and it wasn’t even open, nobody inside, and no confirmation of when people would actually be there. Completely unreliable.
I don't know how anxious Mpower makes in my life. The only thing I have left at this moment is to receive the identical email that started from alerts at nova credit dot com to check my credit in my home country but both Mpower and Nova credit are not doing anything. Very inefficient.
Pathetic experience - they collect all your documents and are effectively unresponsive for weeks!! Completely unprofessional and I do not recommend depending on them. The person interacting with me was Aakanksha and she didn’t show up for scheduled calls, didn’t reply to emails or even have the courtesy of providing updates. I believe if you’re dealing with the anxiety of international college admits, these are the last people to go to.
I applied and received my official loan confirmation and approval letter in 3 business days. That was unbelievably supper amazing! I was so delighted about the seamless process. Thank you MPOWER team. You guys are incredible!
Awesome loan body, their loan application process is pretty easy to get by. The "no-colateral/co-signer" terms are also true. Once all your documentations are properly provided, an approval is done in a timely manner
