Nice bakery and small shop. Great for picking up freshly baked barbari bread, as well as packaged lavash, soujouk, kashkaval cheese, and staples such as bulgur, filo dough, and laghmajun. My only suggestion is to have more Armenian made products available.
I have always enjoyed buying baked goods here but was disappointed that the most recent cookies that I ordered were stale and very bland.
You may find good Barbari bread here; they bake everyday but it will be running out quick. Other Persian cooking ingredients also can be find here. Very nice and friendly staff.
Nice assortment of Mideastern breads, cheeses, olives, pastries, etc. Another plus is Ararat bakes their own breads and pitas on premises. I give Ararat and owner Sammy my 5 Coconuts for excellence! Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed!
Very good selection of middle eastern food products. Also the bread baked inhouse is really tasty.
My family has been coming here for over forty years. The recent renovations are great! The store has really improved since 2017. A fresh bright interior with freshly baked Armenian breads, pastries, and treats. There is also a huge selection of Middle Eastern cooking ingredients, jams, condiments, and other staples. Finally there are fresh foods from the deli counter like 5 varites of olives, fresh feta's, and more. Highly recommended for everyone!
Unusual thin pita is excellent. Small selection of olives, but all top quality. Spinach pies are among the best I have eaten in the USA and Middle East. A nice selection of quality Middle Eastern foods. Staff is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. This store is an asset to the neighborhood, since it provides quality ethnic foods which otherwise are difficult to get.
John the owner is a wonderful host. He has wide selection of fresh Armenian baked good, dried fruits, spices found best in Middle East stores such as this one. You'll find here phelo doughs, yogurt, several different feta cheeses along with other favorite cheeses: imported canned foods and more ...I love shopping here.
Absolutely amazing Mediterranean options from olives to sweets. The almond cookies & grape leaves were brillant.
Don't live as close as I did many years ago but when I am in the area I make it a point to stop off and pick up a couple of packages of Zaarta Bread. For 30 years I have found Mt. Ararat's recipe the best. Always delicious. The other breads fresh out of the oven also delicious. Make it a point to stop off and pick up some great specialties.
