Great location if cathedral rock hike is on your list. The cabins are a little old and smelled kinda funky, at least that’s what we noticed. It was cleaned and has the essentials. We wanted to BBQ but theirs closes at 5 which was a bit early but I understand.
Visiting during the summer is a must! Riding the ski lift is so beautiful. It's just a fun little adventure that gets you out of the Vegas heat for a little while. Plus, seeing the wild horses up there is a bonus!
No restaurant nearby, but they have mini fridges and microwaves. Bring your own food and drinks, or you will have to drive back down the mountain to get some. The shower faucet leaked constantly, the doors could use a better seal, and the stairs are in really rough shape. Despite all of the above, the solitude, the views, and the sheer relaxation of a weekend here makes it worth every penny and then some. Already looking at dates for a return trip.
Was fun. Not the snazziest cabins. Hot water makes crazy noises in the cabin. A little rough and dated. Too bad about what happened to their restaurant though. Beautiful views! Close to hiking trails. No food there though.
I would say the cabin I stayed in which was number 22. Had quite a few issues. There were flying insects which I had to keep swatting out of the air with whatever I had handy. Like a towel or a plastic sheet of paper etc. The air conditioner that they have is one of those that rolls around and is vented out a window. However, it was no match for an 82° day in Mount Charleston. Around 6:00 p.m. the temperature in my room was 81. It did not cool off until after the sun went down. They have a ceiling fan but it is on the lowest setting and really does not help stir air around. The bugs are undoubtedly coming in through poorly fitted screens and doorways. I have lived in Las Vegas for 28 years and this is my first time ever coming up to the cabins at Mount Charleston. I came up to escape the heat but found other issues like the bugs. There is a jacuzzi tub in the room. It is old and discolored and does not look like he would really want to jump in and take a bath.
Beautiful as always, busy too, parking hard to find if you can't came earlier camping side max capacity!!! Hiking more beautiful than ever!!! Cool breeze, warm sun and if came you may be able to see the water falls!!! Still snow if you know where to look.
Lodge burned down. Replace is loosely scheduled. Probably not until 2024 at the earliest. Rooms however really nice but rustic. Very quiet. Good views. You want to bring all your food and drink unless you plan on driving a mile or two to the nearest restaurant.
Great location to unwind from the city life. Close to Cathedral Rock hiking trails and picnic areas. Just keep in mind when you are picking the lower cabins. Parts of the stairs are uneven and what not.
Mgmt was very accommodating and did everything they could to give us a great stay. We were there for the marathon and they were incredibly busy trying to get ready for it. They spent countless hours clearing the lot from the minds of snow. The cabins are nice but….the shower head leaked and every time we showered water went everywhere on the floor. We even tried to fix it but it didn’t help. The security lights shine through a back window that has no cover, so it makes it very hard to sleep. Mgmt did give us some blackout curtains to hang on the lower windows, which helped, but there was no way for us to cover the high window. The doors could use a bit of weather stripping to keep the cold out. This is a great establishment and management really goes above and beyond for guest comfort. The views are INCREDIBLE! I would definitely stay there again when they aren’t having a race and if they could cover all the windows better.
Beautiful view. Peaceful atmosphere. It was an amazing experience. The cabin was spacious and very clean. The price was reasonable. It is a little less expensive Monday-Thursday. I will definitely visit again.
