MT.PLYMOUTH IGA

Very small local hometown grocery store. When I say small, I mean 2 people can't fit down an Isle at the same time. TINY. Does have a deli and a hot bar with different hot dinner options daily. The chicken tenders from the hot bar are delicious, but in my opinion overpriced. Their banana pudding is THE BEST and a good price. Don't plan on buying anything besides grocery items unless you want to spend an arm and a leg! 1 loaf of brioche bread was priced at $8. The best value item at this store is the meats. Great quality meats at affordable prices! FYI: watch out for the expiration dates on items - I have found outdated items several times.

The meat dept is always fresh, the staff are very accommodating and know their meats. The young lady was able to perform splitting 20 chickens speedy fast. Ordering the turkeys, easy fresh and pickup was smooth. The check out staff are friendly and helpful. We try to arrive early, the manager is always checking on shelves and cleaning, I like to see upper management helping with small tasks, show care for store. They also care Dixie Lilly grits which are harder to find and white Lilly flour. The seasonings, canned good and tea bags are always stocked, only a few times during the pandemic, but hey that wasn’t their fault. We enjoy making all our meals at home and the variety of recipes we have discovered from the meat staff learning about new cuts. Thank you for excellent service.

My hubby and I decided to stop here for lunch after seeing all the awesome reviews on their food. I must say, they didn't disappoint! Hubby got a double cheese burger and 2 patties are a full pound. I have never seen a burger covered in so much cheese either!!! I got the fried chicken sandwich and onion rings, it was delicious but I was way jealous of that burger. We gotta go back now and try THAT burger and I'm not mad about that at all!

Marcie is always so nice, treats you with respect. Happy doing her job. I like visiting your deli just because of the great service. And I don't even live in this area!

Shopped at IGA EVERY DAY until now. I was shopping there at 8.30am on Saturday November 19th. I had a cashier The only Cashier working give me the wrong change and insist I gave her a $1 bill rather then the $5 bill I handed her. You better pay attention if your a cashier it’s literally your whole job to avoid such occurrence’s. The issue is so trivial and not the reason I won’t be back. Everyone makes mistakes we are human. The problem was in how such a small $4 problem was handled is why I will never be back and the reason why IGA lost a $400 per month customer. A manager / possibly the IGA franchise owner was there and never intervened. He is at a management level for sure based on my observations of his interactions with different employees over the last 3 years I have seen I’m not positive but he may even be the owner? Regardless this man had to have heard the heated conversation. If the lady wasn't fired for her handling of such a small situation and escalating it because the vegtables in the store have a higher IQ, then the store is in really bad shape. I couldn’t imagine what her solution to a serious problem would be! The gentlemen in line in front of me was getting lottery ticket winnings and she misrang his payment back to him as if he bought $20 worth of tickets rather then a payout and I had to wait an additional 5 minutes on top of everything else while she corrected that screw up on the register. Never again!!! I will never go back this was strikes 1, 2 and 3! Again the change was a tiny part of the reason I won’t be back she should be fired based on her decision making skills in solving a problem with a customer. Imagine how many other customers had problems with her you lost as customers you didn’t hear about! She is a moron!

I had a propane tank exchange because of a bad valve. After calling blue rhino and being told to go back to IGA and switch out the bad tank, the exchange yielded another tank with a bad valve. When I went back to exchange the tank I was told by Sheila, the manager on duty that there was no way that more than one tank would be bad. She stated that she was not going to replace the tank and for me to go someplace else. She was very rude and certainly unprofessional. I was directed to publix in Sorrento by blue rhino where they exchanged the bad tank for a new one that works perfectly. They displayed the highest level of professionalism and courtesy. The manager on duty at IGA should take a class on professionalism and courtesy because I'm sure she failed that .

Great prices on different meats and poultry packages. Good quick meals and subs plus can do your weekly shopping there.

Vegan options are pretty decent. Only been twice and the second time they were out of impossible meat, unfortunately.

If you want fresh farm local vegetables and meat. This is your place. Still keeps their Southern ways.

Best little supermarket around. Having one of the big store's a little further down the street i still go to IGA for my everyday needs. Is faster and the people that work there are really nice. They only have a small variety of product's but the people are the ones that make the difference. The meat department has great quality meat. Still the best supermarket around. Great people in the store.
