I went to get acrylic nails done. I called in advance to set up an appointment but they didn't pick up the phone, so I had to leave a voice mail. When I showed up, the first receptionist told me to go away and come back at 4:30 PM. It was 2:30 PM. I'd taken Frontrunner from SLC to get there, so it wasn't worth it to me to go home and come back. I waited in their lobby for 2 hours. After that, there was additional confusion as a 2nd and 3rd receptionist and a bunch of additional staff tried to figure out who could do my nails. This meant more waiting time. In the end, they had a cosmetology student who had already gotten certified as a nail tech do my nails, pulling her out of class. I felt really bad about interrupting her schooling. She was very kind and did good-quality nails on me. It did take awhile. They gave me half off the nails to apologize, so it only cost $8. I tipped the nail artist the other $8, because she seemed really personable and friendly. None of this was her fault. Although I'd left home at noon, I got back home at 10PM. I think the supplies they had were of poor quality, because the white paint had debris in it, and it's only been a week and a half and two of the nails have already fallen off. Usually, acrylics last 2-3 months on my nails, so this is unusual for me.
The staff here are very rude. At least the testing center staff are, I have come to take test here on three occasions. Each time the staff would roll their eyes when I walked in or asked a question regarding the center rules. At the most recent test, I was waiting in the hall and overheard them making fun of me.
Recently just finished the digital media program, definitely recommend it! I will miss going to class every day! But I’m excited for the knowledge I have gained to continue forward with my career. Thanks Mtech! By the way, shout out to Ryan Davis! He was my instructor, he did a great job! Also shout out to the lady at the bookstore! She’s so helpful and kind!
I would not recommend attending here. I took the Information Technology course at the Lehi Campus. When I had my first meeting with a counselor to discuss taking the course they seemed annoyed that I scheduled an appointment before registering for a class. After registering for the class I was required to schedule another appointment with a counselor in order to take the class. When discussing the way the class worked I was told it was a "go at your own pace class". It really should have been called "a teach it yourself class". The first couple days of the class involved orientation, like any other class, but after orientation one might think that the class would start and the teacher would begin teaching. Unfortunately, the teacher gives you a playlist from YouTube to watch and sits quietly at his desk. You are not provided with anything else to study. This is how the class goes for weeks. At one point he did show us how to make an Ethernet cable which was not on the exam and talked about his job experiences in the past, aside from that the teacher doesn't teach anything. Those first weeks you are supposed to be studying and learning to work towards being able to pass the ITF+ certification from CompTIA. A week before the exam, when the teacher gives you websites to look at, which I had already found in my previous attempts to study. The ITF+ is supposed to be the intro for those that don't know much about the IT field. From what I understand in the past the school offered an IT Fundamentals course that you were required to take before you could take the IT Technician course. They have now combined the two classes, and claim you will be provided the curriculum for both in the combined class. They use Canvas to give you assignments and provide access to the class, which could be useful, but the due dates that are shown are not accurate and when you ask questions regarding it, the answers that given dance around the question and don't help clear anything up. After studying any online material available and watching as many YouTube videos as I could find I was able to pass any practice test, I could find on the Internet, with a fairly decent score. When I took the actual exam I barely passed. Many of the questions on the exam were not even covered by the YouTube videos the teacher provided. At one point, after completing the first certificate, the school was having computer problems ironic that it was in the IT classes with their ability to provide the individual parts of the course the students and we were literally twiddling our thumbs for days, but were required to be in class according to the attendance policy. The teacher did take an hour one day to explain "how to pick yourself" and how making certain choices in your life and connecting with the right people can help you be successful. Taking that into consideration, I would highly recommend thinking twice about taking this course. After they figured their computer problems out we were given multiple sections of the course at all at once, then two weeks later the teacher says one of them needed to be completed by the end of the day and one didn't actually need to be done at all. There had been no notification before hand to determine the due date on the portion that needed to be completed by that the end of the day. If you fail or fail to complete one of the areas you have to pay to retake the part, which would be understandable, except they are not providing any educational instruction to help you pass. You can find online classes for cheaper, with curriculum other than YouTube videos, and you can do them in your own time, which have the same quality as this school. If you can handle no communication and no education, this class is for you.
I took my EMT classes here and loved every minute of it! It was all taken very seriously but yet I still had so much fun. My friends and I met up everyday before class in the cafeteria and ate some lunch, then went to class. Then on our breaks from class we went to the bookstore and got snacks. This was like an everyday routine! There is so much variety here from class courses and schedule to cafeteria lunch menus
Don't go here. The surgical tech program will destroy your confidence. While the original program coordinator left According to several doctors I've spoken to, she "has a reputation" the other three teachers we worked with are still there. Steven frequently uses the "r" word in his vernacular. He even used that word when talking about doctors that we would potentially work with. When asked to stop, he said "I can say whatever I want". My classmates and I were confused as to why Amber, who has the least amount of experience, having worked in an OR less than a year, was teaching there. She didn't handle push back from us whatsoever. She literally yelled in the face of a student when they suggested a better way to manage our lab time, since Amber does not have good time management skills. When asked about her teaching methods, she would say "because I'm the teacher and I decide". There was no explanation. Finally, Christine yells a lot and cannot communicate in an adult manner. She threw a light handle across the room when a student didn't do well on a practice lab and she's made students cry. None of these teachers are professional, even though they claim to be. When asked questions, they wouldn't answer them or they would respond to us in a condescending way. Frequently they would tell us doctors would throw instruments or yell at us if we messed up. They legitimately scared us and some of us were dreading externship. There is a severe lack of encouragement. Don't go to this program. Save yourself the hassle. While I felt somewhat prepped to start working, the anxiety and undue stress that came with this training wasn't worth it.
This is an excellent college with a beautiful campus. They have programs for everything, from diesel mechanic to nursing. They have a lot of different medical classes, technology classes, electrician, mechanics and many more classes. Their curriculum is industry driven so when you graduate, you're job ready and employers are ready to hire you. Job placement is high, nearly 100% of adult students get placed in their chosen career. The college is heavily invested in the community and to making the college experience what it should be. Best tech college for sure.
I really recommend the commercial truck driving program here in Lehi Utah. Most affordable and best instruction in Utah. I passed everything and even got all my endorsements. Was instructed on a 10 speed truck. I am now getting calls right and left for job opportunities. Just comes down to choosing the right one. There are a ton of jobs in the trucking industry both local and OTR. $3000 for a 50K-100k+ job is an awesome deal.
I was accepted into this college and told in writing that I did not need to receive the covid vaccine. I flew to Salt Lake many times to attend orientation, interviews, etc. I was then asked to come in for a meeting "on how I could do better in the program". In that closed-door meeting, they told me that I had to receive the vaccine even though it was not mandatory or be removed from the program. I chose to be removed from the program. On top of all of this, for the past 2 years I have received a tax form saying they have taken $1,800 in financial aid each year. I never even attended 1 class.
Five-month waiting list for their CDL- A program, that's just crazy!
