What a great experience I’ve had at Mountain View Family Dentistry. I’m just blown away! The staff were friendly and very accommodating. I was so at ease with my visit. And I would like to thank Dr. Lou for her expertise and extraordinary dental work. I’m a patient from out of state that needed an implant after getting injured while playing with my dog. I was referred by a friend who knew Dr. Lou. She was highly recommended and I am so grateful to have met her. She took her time in discussing her proposed treatment plan. Dr. Lou was very thorough. I became aware of the pros and cons, which made me truly understand what I needed. Can’t thank everyone enough for a wonderful experience!!!
I went to this practice in early January, 2023, for a routine cleaning and exam. I am new to the area and this was my first visit. I was told there were no major concerns during my cleaning. However, when Dr. Lou reviewed my x-rays, I was abruptly told that I had 10 cavities, all of which needed to be filled. It is important to note that I have never had to have a filling before, am 30 years old, and have always been very intentional about my dental hygiene brushing, flossing, and routinely visiting visiting the dentist. I requested that Dr. Lou show me where the cavities were, and she rapidly pointed to the spaces between the teeth in the images, and insisted that they all needed to be filled. I was very shocked and upset, and I was encouraged to schedule an appointment for fillings as early as possible. I decided to go to another practice for a second opinion, and brought the original x-rays from Dr. Lou's office with me for the consultation. This doctor did identify 1 cavity he recommended filling and a couple spots that he would like to monitor, but he informed me that he would not recommend any other fillings. He was very surprised when I told him that I had been advised to fill 10 cavities, and shared that, while looking closely at the same images, he did not see or support a need for such extensive treatment. Needless to say, I cancelled all my appointments with Mountain View Family Dentistry. All in all, I would not recommend this practice. Their recommendations felt dishonest, corrupt, and I believe their focus is on billing and profit rather than equitable patient care.
Dr. Lou and staff are the best!! They did my restoration case without any pain or discomfort. Kudos to the Mountain View Family Dentistry team!
They have a nice comfy chair and Netflix to lull you into believing all the work done is necessary. They gave me on average 3-5 X-rays every single visit. The dentist insisted I needed 8 FILLINGS. I should have run away right then. Later, she chipped a tooth when filling another. Two root canals. They gave GONE OVER the amount covered on my plan and I owe $2000. This has never in my life happened before. I’m a teacher and cannot afford this scam.STAY AWAY
They care more about your money and not taking care if you. They ask u what you do for work but didnt ask which teeth was hurting. Showed little interest in healping guest with concerns. Just want money kinda of dentistry.
Dr. Pedraza and her team were so caring abut my specific dental needs and the anxiety I may get during dental visits. Matt, the RDH, was exceptional and Jenny, at the front desk is so friendly and courteous. I've been there twice and don't think I will be going back to my previous dentist.
Dr. Lou and her team are excellent. This was my first experience at this office and it went incredibly well. The office environment is warm and inviting while incorporating enhanced safety protocols due to Covid. The greeting I received upon entering was genuine and the professionals who worked with me were clearly experienced and sharp. When my cleaning finished Dr. Lou took the time to not only explain recommended services to me, but to highlight her favorite restaurants around the bay. I’d unequivocally recommendation this dentistry practice to anyone.
Dr. Lu has been my dentist for many years, and now she’s my 4 year old daughter’s dentist. Dr. Lu and her staff were AWESOME for my daughter’s first visit to the dentist! They made her so comfortable, that, thankfully, she does not fear dentist visits at all. She even did great with a cavity fill, no tears or fuss! Today was my daughter’s second visit, and she was comfortable and confident. Thank you Dr. Lu and staff for creating a positive dental experience for my little one! You all are the BEST!
Been going here for more than a decade now. Dr. Pedraza is such a perfectionist that made my smile a perfect one. I had an accident before that broke/lost my front tooth, she fixed it and you wouldn’t even notice that it’s not a real tooth. She is great and so is the whole team! I would recommend to everyone, even for the little ones! My kids love going here since they were toddlers till now!
Before finding Dr. Lou, my wife and I struggled to find a great dentist in the Bay Area. We've now been going for about 1 year and it has been a great experience. The office is always welcoming and everyone tries to get to know you. It is unfortunate that we have to move so we'll be back to finding a new dentist, but 5/5 I would recommend Dr. Lou to anyone in search of a great Dentist.
