Description

Doug Jones, the owner of Mugsy Dogs, sold his previous business in 2014 and found himself looking for a new business venture. His wife, Marti, was out of town and dined at a restaurant that sold hot dogs and loved the idea that she called Doug and presented him the idea of starting his own hot dog shop. Doug, with his two sons, Nathan and Kevin, went to work creating a great restaurant concept with a delicious menu and a fun, retro atmosphere. The name Mugsy was chosen because that was Doug’s nickname while he attended high school in Phoenix, Arizona. That is how Mugsy Dogs came about.

Chicago dog was good.  I'm not the only one who mentioned the pickles.  Just get the spears.   There is nothing else on the menu that requires chips.   If the carts outside of Home Depot can get this right then so can you.  Also.  As of June 1, 2023, automatic star removal for any carryout/non full service restaurant that asks for a tip.   Pay your employees and stop allowing them to expect extra money for the bare minimum.  Edit 7/26.  Google asked if I wanted to update my review since I was in the area.  Their menu still shows pickle chips so no Google.  I do not wish to edit my review.

Had the chi dog and it was great. Good dog, nice seasoning, and had all the parts. O ion rings were great. Drinks ok standard soda fare. My daughter had the sliders and said they were amazing we saw them make them fresh when they were ordered but her fries were a little undercooked should have been a little browner and crispier, but they were still hot and soft, but really needed salt. It's a place I'd recommend and would be happy to visit again.

Lunch was excellent and the staff was very friendly, gave some recommendations on items to try. The burger was delicious. Thanks for great food and experience. Will return.Food: 5/5

Food was delicious. Kyle at the front was friendly and helpful. It’s always nice when staff are looking to greet their guests and not just serve them.

The food is always fantastic at Mugsy's! We were especially impressed with the staff tonight. We showed up during the dinner rush and they all worked together and handled it very well. We always get a Chicago dog and fries or onion rings. Go on Weenie Wednesday for a good deal.

Small place, order at counter. Hot dogs and frys are good. Service was quick. Food was served hot. Many varieties of dog toppings. Order thier specialty dogs or order with toppings of your choice.

Chicago dog was good except for the pickles.  Pickles on Chicago dogs should always be spears, not slices, and should not have food coloring additive.  Food coloring sounds be reserved for relish only.  Bad pickles ingredients versus what a proper Chicago dill spear looks like attached note a pickles sound be pretty close to an actual cucumber in color.

While not completely authentic, they did a great job on the Chicago dog. I would have preferred the quartered pickle spears rather than hamburger pickles. The chili dog was also really good. The fries are to die for! The fry sauce really puts this place over the top.

We enjoy these dogs! They are so yummy and very filling! The side of fries is also huge so we usually get one and share it between my husband and myself. The manager is very nice and the restaurant is always busy! It’s in a great spot as well with nice picnic tables outside! Love this place!!

Yummy place, lots of options! Hot dogs were a little better than burgers. Fries were really good! Little place though and gets busy, but nice staff and was clean. Pretty cheap, and they have deals on Wednesdays!
