Very nice small museum on beautiful Washburn Univ. campus. We enjoyed both the traveling exhibit and the permanent collection. Plenty of seats to take a brief rest and see the artwork from a distance. Outdoor artwork was great too.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Small but interesting collection. The emphasis is on abstract and impressionism. There's also a focus on regional artists who you may never have seen elsewhere. If you have an hour or so, it's worth a visit. Located on the Washburn Campus.
Outstanding Museum and Topeka Kansas at Washburn University. Well presented with an exceptional art. Very wonderful staff very pleasant ambience! And an excellent place to visit and browse who this wonderful place anytime rain or shine.
We have enjoyed visiting the art lab many times. Several stations for the kids & kid at heart to get creative. They host parties as well as open creative area with a station that changes regularly. Free parking & free admission. Located in the basement of the Mulvane Art Museum.
The Museum is great, galleries rotate so it isn’t always the same thing. Today they had several originals by Salvador Dali. The kids loved the Art Lab, located downstairs, endless possibilities to create.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
My children have always enjoyed going to the art lab and the downstairs area of the Mulvane Art Museum. One side is blocks and Legos and reading, while the large other side has various mediums of arts and crafts. Whether it’s nice and sunny and warm out, cold and rainy, or snowy, this is somewhere fun to take your children for FREE!
Small, and even smaller due to renovations and areas being closed off. But we enjoyed our visit and it's free so worth checking out
My wife and I love this museum !!! It even has an artlab for kids in the basement to make big messes. This school and campus have such a nice charm. It is like a small oasis of hope surrounded by a huge area of poverty and despair. I truly believe more students would attend this college if you could somehow transport it out of crime-ridden central Topeka.
Another great example of university art museum. Found in the capital of Kansas, Mulvane Art Museum is more then exhibition space. Their whole floor with interactive workshops and activities called ArtLab it’s paradise for all kids! They also have Artmat inside- so you can buy unique piece of art during your visit.
This is such a fun place for the kids! My three love going to the art lab. There are so many different hands on art activities that are offered, and for free! They have a Lego area, places to draw self portraits, paint, color, use blocks, weave, draw like you are in a cave, and many more. It is run by the university, and work study students. We have been several times and every time has been a great experience.
