My son who’s 10 and I came in and had and issue with his trumpet. Jeff helped us and quickly assessed the issue. It was minor yet he took his time to repair it and didn’t charge us. This was greatly appreciated and I will definitely be doing all my music business there . Thank you Jeff for all your help. Consider us regular customers.
At age 61 I decided it was time to satisfy my dream of learning the guitar. I went into Murphy's Music where I rented instruments for my children for many years for school orchestra. I also had an heirloom violin that is probably over 100 years old passed down to me from my great uncle - Bob Murphy restored it and did a gradation on the soundboard which made it sound better than it ever did! Jeff listened to my goals and hooked me up with an excellent teacher - Jon. I worked with Jon for about one year, but there were too many scheduling issues on my end as I am a surgeon and Jon was only available on my surgery days. I switched to Dennis who is incredible! I am not a natural by any means, but with Dennis I am making awesome progress and having a blast at the same time! All the staff are highly knowledgeable and the store is well stocked with all the right equipment and supplies. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MURPHYS'S MUSIC!!
Best Music store around!! My daughter’s clarinet had a mysterious vibration but not all the time so it was hard to hard to find the cause. They spent over 1/2 hour working with my daughter to find the problem and make it perfect. Best owner and staff…check them out, you won’t be disappointed!!!
The staff at Murphy’s Music is fantastic. I came in to get my bass repaired and they were very helpful with what I needed. Jeff and Tim are both informative and friendly to talk to. Would strongly recommend coming here for any instrument repairs.
A while back I brought my bass in for repair. The bass sound keep shutting down while, I was playing it. I received a call from the store stating the bass was ready and repaired. Went to pick it up brought it home and had the same issue. Went back and the owner stated you probably need a new pre-amp. They charge me 150.00 and now they wanted to charge me more. Went to another place to find out the ground wire was lose. So my bass sat at his shot and absolutely nothing was done. When I spoke to the mechanic at the shop and said all he did was clean it. I just to love this place now I will never step foot in it. I was rip off .
Extremely friendly staff, i’m pretty the owner was the one who helped me, not 100% sure. He was super kind gave me a lot of information on my guitar and even fixed it for free, it was just a string that broke off and some fret buzz but it was still really kind for him to do that. The inside is really nice too, it’s a nice environment feels very welcoming.
Murphy's music is like no other music store. 5 stars all the way. I bought my guitar from them for a great deal. The selection and sales support were fantastic. Their service and repair is awesome too. It's very hard to find trustworthy repair service. They fixed my amp when other repair shops couldn't figure out the problem and they got it back to me so quickly too. No wonder they have so many happy customers. This is definitely the store for all your musical needs!
Our Band Original Gossip is so fortunate to have recruited Jeff as a member of our band. Not only is Jeff the owner of Murphy's Music and serves the community with his skills as a musician. His staff is also very helpful and knowledgeable. Always a friendly smile. This is the place to go when you need a guitar set up or to buy any equipment. The entire staff is well versed in everything music as most of them also are musicians. I just went into Murphey’s with a brand new Jaguar Bass I purchased online and brought in for a set up. Tim took a look and started fixing it up as soon as he had it in his hands, a tweak here and there, checked all the gizmos and gadgets, giving me some feedback on what he was doing. It was actually quite amazing seeing the efficiency and knowledge he had on such a quick turnaround. Impressed and sold on Murphey’s for all my bass needs! Thanks Tim!
I cannot say enough good things about Murphy’s Music in Melville. I have been using them for 12 years for all of my violin needs and they are always accommodating, friendly, and reasonable. The store is family-owned and Bob and Rob always go the extra mile to make sure their customers are happy. Look no further if you are in need of an instrument store!
