City Services and amenities are average at best and incompetent or nonexistent at worst. The value proposition for living here has significantly decreased in the last 10 years. Reading through the positive reviews you'll note most of them are about things, places and activities not handled by the city, they are handled by tax paying citizens.
Had a good time at the Concert in the Park Summer Series
Every Thursday evening several people gather at the flag pole by Veterans Memorial Park for an easy 2-3 mile walk in Old Town Murrieta and beyond for an hour. For now it is 4:30pm. Times will change as the days get warmer and lighter.
City Hall is great. Community Development is Fantastic. They installed car chargers too. However. Not enough for the slow charging hybrids. These stations are always full and the Fast Chargers are empty.
City Hall staff seem overwhelmed with even the simplest of requests. Police Dept. is rude and condescending rather than helpful. One officer was great but several others had serious attitudes and lacked any common decency.
Murrieta is a very nice place to live. There is nothing very outstanding about this place. It use to be a huge ranch owned by Juan Murrieta. Cattle mainly. There was a train that came through here to Oceanside. The owners got lazy and did not rebuild the track after a series of storms. Today it would be a great tourist attraction and real transportation for the stationed marines living on this side of Camp .
Poor at budgeting, they pushed measure t. Now all of Murrieta has to pay a higher sales tax. This hurts businesses and any thing we want to buy. Thanks politicians and unions for making the cost of living higher. Any big ticket items will buy in another city! Will have to buy more stuff online! I would rather have my money stay here but not paying mismanagement of a budget-Cut the budget don't raise our taxes!
A pathetic excuse for customer service. Maybe if they didn't get all of their ridiculous fees until they provided the services needed, they might actually show some form of urgency and knowledge. I've paid a ridiculous amount in fees now weeks ago and every time I call to follow up on my business license progress, the first tho g they do is verify that I've paid and then shower me with manning excuses and ask for patience. If Murrieta is suppose to be the future of southern California, I'll be cutting my losses and leaving area asap.
Long wait times for online permits. Over an hour and a half. 3 people behind counter, while im the only one here. Big ???
Quick, efficient service; Christina was so helpful and cheerful. Got through on the phone very easily and got all my questions answered.
