Very architecturally artistic design, an amazing and surprising variety of automobiles. You sort of need to pay close attention to which ramps on which ends of each floor you are navigating, and try to incorporate the ones you missed on the way back. The staff were super engaging and knowledgeable, there is also lots of information on the walls and in videos playing throughout the levels. I highly recommend paying for tickets and parking online in advance, alternatively the parking machine appears to be down so get your space number and head inside, it's $5 and very little hassle to get that out of the way. There is a pretty neat gift shop and cafe on the premise as well to enjoy, all well worth the visit in my opinion.
Cool place. Worth the price of admission. I took my 5 year old. He makes so many cars because he has watched the Cars movies. Just about every car in that movie is found here. You go up and down ramps in the middle of the building and see cars throughout all of history. There’s a spot to color a picture of your own car as well as a pinewood derby track at the bottom. One of the other fun exhibits was half of a for mustang that you could turn the wheel. The kids loved it.
Very nice museum. Classic cars with plaques that give year and short history of car. 4 levels of well preserved beautiful cars. History about route 66 on the walls of one of the lower levels. A race car game, pine car derby, coloring drawing and small kids area. On the upper deck a stunning view of Tacoma. Staff very friendly, knowledgeable and engaging.
It was clean and nice. Lots of cool cars. Staff was super friendly. Some of the exhibits were down and they are trying to get them back up. So, great to stroll through just not a ton of family activities that are easy to engage your kids with. There is a derby exhibit the kids can interact with.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
An absolutely wonderful museum. The cars are gorgeous. The staff was friendly. I'm not a car guy at all but the history is remarkable. The building is very interesting and fun to walk around. Great views of Tacoma as well. If you are in Tacoma you have to drop by and check this museum out.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$16–20
We visited the museum on Friday morning Museum had ample parking spots but need to pay for parking no queue to buy entry tickets It takes around 2 to 2:30 hours to see the Four floors of cars exhibits, my 8-year-old enjoyed seeing the cars. Clean museum racing simulators and a slot car track for additional free. The staffs here are so friendly Food court didn't have many vegetarian options. The grilled cheese was good but the veggie sandwich was cold and not so good
Very good collection of cars, went today with my family, you can easily spend 2 hours here. If you're passionate about cars, then you can spend more time. Prices are decent, $18 for adults, $10 for kids of age 6 and above, below 6 years is free. Has lot of parking spaces, however charging $5 for parking. If you want to spend time indoor, then you can definitely visit 1 time here.
An endless number of cars to see for auto enthusiasts! From the early days of cars all the way up through modern day, there’s something for all kinds of car lovers. $18 plus the $5 for for parking was decently high, but ultimately worth it. There were even some games laid out as you advanced further in the museum, and beautiful views of the city at the top! Easily accessible from I-5, this is a great Tacoma stop!
I so wish we had more time to visit this amazing museum but it was our last day in the area, it closed at 5 and unfortunately was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. We managed to cram a visit into about 45 minutes but I would suggest at least 2.5-3 hours to do it justice. This is an amazing building but it would have to be to house this fantastic collection. One of my sons absolutely loves cars and he had a grin from ear to ear the entire time. The collection was wide-ranging and has something for every car enthusiast. And they had my favorite- a beautiful Shelby Mustang. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. The museum is right off the interstate in Tacoma but getting back on the interstate from the kuseum was a night.are at rush-hour.
I took my boyfriend for his birthday present because he loves cars and history. It was a great experience! There was even a guy walking around giving random trivia which we really appreciate! I wish I caught his name. We brought our little baby but there was a fantastic kid area that I can't wait to show her when she's older!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$16–20
