A wonderful museum to visit telling the story of Oklahoma and the local area. The village has a lot of interesting building and the only remain land office that was use during the Oklahoma land run.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
We were really excited to see the last surviving land office; there is also an indoor museum which was very interesting to browse as well. We were surprised, however that we weren't able to be left in peace to see the historic outdoor buildings; instead there were tour guides at each one that absolutely forced you to endure their verbal script. The land office was especially unpleasant as we were planning a calm peaceful day and instead were immediately peppered with questions and even when we declined answering, if we wanted to see the building we were forced through questions and a verbal presentation that was jarring. We weren't really able to focus or enjoy any of these buildings and that was the primary reason we came. I am guessing this is what is meant by "living history". I can definitely see the value in this and obviously it is enjoyed by so many. It would just be great if guests were given a choice on if they want to experience it or not. We hope to come back when no one is there so we can enjoy it in peace!
This place is amazing! We were there for a wedding but were able to visit the different areas while we were there. We toured the general store, house, school, and of course the chapel. The gentleman that showed us the house gave us all the details about where it came from and how they got it. And details about things inside. It was so interesting to see everything. It was really cool to be able to step back in time as see how things were. We are planning to go back with our kids so they can see it. Definitely recommend checking it out!
Interesting easy place to go see. Well organized. Very informative. Interactive for children in the museum area phones to pick up and listen to, buttons to touch, small books to read in the display- fully functional outdoor buildings. Cute, little, affordable gift shop, friendly and knowledgeable staff.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
Oklahoma has some wonderful history. It's wonderful that there are organizations that preserve the history and allow us to walk through a museum and be filled with the wonders on how Oklahoma became a stateVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10

Great place to learn about national and regional history. Lots of interactive exhibits for the kids. Fun and reasonable prices.
It was good dad really like it. The chisomn trail is where my and I grow up. My parents to for the most part. We have heritage center and museum in Duncan it's where we're from. Got pics of my kids playing with old wooden toys...lol low tech. It was fun.
Such an interesting place. Clean. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thanks to Aaron for his genealogy expertise! Walking tour of actual Land Office and historic buildings.
