Musical Intervention works with clinical and community based organizations to provide the platform for individuals and groups to write, record and perform original music. Our Headquarters downtown is a drug and alcohol free music space, open to all.
Musical Intervention LLC’s founder, Adam Christoferson, developed a program that enables individuals and groups to take part in the transformational power of creating original songs. Adam has had the pleasure to work with various social service organizations throughout Connecticut and serve the homeless, at-risk youth, veterans, substance abusers and adults with mental illness. His efforts have been featured in international academic symposiums, public access radio, and performing arts venues. Musical Intervention has also received community enrichment grants from the National Endowment of the Arts and the Arts Council of Greater New Haven with great success.
Musical Intervention provides an outlet and assistance needed to help individuals transcend themselves and contribute to others through creative and expressive songwriting. Individuals are exposed to the technological and educational uses of music, audio-visual recording, and live performance to help develop skills that are relevant to all other areas of life and work.
OUR EXPERIENCE
Adam applies his degree in Recreation Therapy and talent in music to co-write original songs with program participants and produce professional recordings and music videos. His work with at risk youth has been featured at the World Congress of Adolescence and Child Psychiatry in Beijing, China and various other conferences around the world. Throughout the journey, Adam has left a trail of success stories of people who he has served. Adam was the featured speaker at the Yale Donald J. Cohen Mentorship Program at Yale School of Medicine. Adam has also provided his services to Yale New Haven Child Psychiatric Inpatient Hospital, New Haven public schools, Southern Connecticut State University, Hill Health Center's Village Of Power, Norwalk After School Programs, Riverview Opera Project, Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, HEROS Childhood Cancer Survivorship Clinic, and various other after-school programs throughout the state of Connecticut.
Musical Intervention provides a platform for people to write, record and perform original music because our mission is to promote empathy, transform lives, and inspire the world one song at a time.
We envision a world in which all people are empowered to use their creativity and self-expression to better their lives and the lives of others.
