My mom and I had the pleasure of having Michael J. 2nd-floor Medsurge as our nurse for most of the week we stayed. I read the reviews before coming to the hospital disappointed and nervous, but Michael himself erased that negativity I had in mind. Michael was patient, caring, and informative, and he always had a smile on his face in the wee hours of the night. I never heard him complain or mumble any words about his patients. He deserves a raise, recognition, and more!!! If you ever find yourselves on the second floor, I hope you're blessed with him as your caretaker because you'll be in good hands. Happy Holidays!!
The worst place. Never go there. They just stole $600 from me just for going in, I stayed less than 20 minutes, they didn’t even treat me, gave me prescription for medicine that got me feeling way worse. I had to go back because I was worried for side effects, they forced me in and didn’t even tell me weither it was the medicine or not. Once I was in, they made me wait without anyone so that they would get more money. This is not a hospital. This is a scam, a money maker. It should be illegal.
We were visiting nac for the weekend and my son woke up in the middle of the night wheezing and throwing up and having some trouble breathing. We drove straight to the ER and waited a half hour for a nurse to come and get us from the waiting room. We've been here for 2 and a half hours for 1 breathing treatment and a shot of steroids for croup. It's been one heck of a night of our son screaming and crying in pain and them not doing much of a dang thing.
They were kind and helpful, the nurses were going above and beyond to help me, they were very sweet and I was too tired to say anything other than thank you.
Saturday morning I came to ER with sore throat and fever, thinking I was getting tonsilitis. A covid swab was administered and it was positive. The RN checking me out got "snippy" with me that I should've done the home test kit then contact my PCP. My PCP was closed and I would've had to wait until Monday for the RX to be called in. I would've been much worse! I also needed documentation for my job to get my time off for quarantine. A little more compassion needs to be exercised considering I am 60 years old. I did what was best for me!!!
Went in, my cardiologist decided to admit me. The staff never communicated with me unless I directly asked. 5 hours in the ER room, I finally asked when I'd be moved upstairs and was informed I wouldn't be admitted upstairs that I'd be staying the night in an uncomfortable ER bed. I asked over four hours ago for tylenol for my migraine and was never given anything. Seriously, both these hospitals in Nacogdoches need bad reviews.
I would just like to give attention where deserved! All my life I have struggled with certain health issues and NO ONE would listen. Tonight I was in the ER for a flair up and Dr. Larkin listened to me!!! And he agreed with me!! Hopefully I’m on the road to being permanently healed. He is amazing! My nurse and the rest of the staff was also amazing but he relieved me of concerns and actually freaking listened to me!! Thank you again Dr. Larkin!!!
Most of the nurses have ZERO bedside manner and treat you like a prisoner. My gf told her nurse something was wrong with her catheter and the nurse just ignored her and kept ranting at her. After begging another nurse to check it, surprise surprise, it wasn't in the correct position. The doctors also give you almost no information about what's going on. They're also being sued by a former employee who they fired in retaliation for reporting their tax evasion.
The morning staff is the most polite people but the evening shift is horrible. They hang up on people, refuse to assist worried family and constantly say sorry we're busy. This worries that a nurse dealing with sick people would treat those of us worried about our families.
Had my second daughter here and out off all the hospitals I’v ever been too this one had it together. We drove in from Austin just to be at this hospital and it was well worth the drive. Just wish we had a hospital like this back home. Great team. Great place. Would highly recommend.
