My husband Took my daughter for a knee brace. They were told we had to have a referral. They were closed the first day. Not their fault obviously but they went back the next day and was told that they needed a referral but went ahead and fitted her because my husband told them he didn’t want her to miss more school since she was already there. 3 days of not hearing anything I call them and they tell me they still don’t have the referral so they will call her doctor and get it. They call back less than an hour later and tell me they have the referral but someone has put the brace back she was fitted for and they don’t know what size it was and will need her to come back in and be fitted. I usually wouldn’t post a bad review but there wasn’t even much of an apology on their end. It’s inconsiderate and we will be using southern medical because when I went to write this review I happened to see the reviews before and realized I shouldn’t have been going here all along.
They don't return your phone call and are not willing to put any effort into verifying insurance. Terrible customer service!
Once of the WORST experience I have ever had. Waited for over 3 hours while my son was needing a nebulizer. Lady told us they were waiting on insurance? I called insurance and found out in five minutes they were out of network. They were rude and inconsiderate. I will pay cash for anything I need before I ever step back into that place.
My toddler had been hospitalized two days with respiratory distress. She was discharged needing a nebulizer for albuterol treatments. I had been warned in the past to never use NARE, but due to it being Christmas Eve and no other DME provider being open, I had no other option. Blue Cross of Alabama was closed and NARE couldn't verify that our deductible had been met. It had been met and I told them this. They explained if we cash paid and they filed with insurance and it paid the claim, NARE would refund us. We opted to pay cash because our baby needed the nebulizer; she couldn't wait for Blue Cross business hours. I waited almost 2 weeks and called NARE to the check claim status. They "lost" my daughter's chart and had NEVER FILED with my insurance. NARE would've kept my money and never told me otherwise had I not called and followed up! The deductible had been met, like I had already told them, and they now owe me a refund but won't release it to me "until the insurance pays." Treating people like this is no different than stealing directly from customers' pockets. The poor reviews for this business clearly speak for themselves. There are far too many other reputable DME suppliers out there for me to ever trust NARE again.
My experience has been very good. I had to have a lift recliner which they ordered from the company. It took a little over a week to come in and was delivered by the store manager and a tech. Very friendly, courteous and professional. I would recommend them.
Stop do not do business with this place. They need to clean house starting with manager. They took 3 weeks and still had no wheelchair for my husband. Southern Medical Equipment had him a chair in 24 hours. Save yourself the stress and go to Southern Medical Equipment and ask for Penny.
I had the worse experience… waited over 3 hours for a nebulizer for my sick 1 year old and did NOT get one. They said they had to call insurance and they claimed they was still waiting for the insurance but I went outside and called insurance and found out in 10 minutes that they was out of network and wasn’t going to pay. Went back inside and told them to give me my paperwork going somewhere else was tired of waiting. Don’t recommend going here for anything!
They went out of their way to help me. Even though they didn't accept my insurance they called around till they found someone who did. And even fax my script and insurance card to the people who took it. So I didn't have to drive to Athens the night before my surgery. They were very caring and nice.
My husband recently started using oxygen and also needed a b-pap machine for severe sleep apnea. While this is all in a days work for the staff it was a life changing, life altering event for us that day. We were trying to wrap our minds around the fact that he needs the oxygen when we were told that his insurance would not pay for a b-pap machine or supplies, nor would it pay for his oxygen it would pay at some level for oxygen but not at the level he is at currently, however, he still has to have it. Later he was, thankfully, able to get a donated b-pap machine cost is over $1,000 but had to purchase the mask. The mask was over $200. When we purchased the mask, the staff person was not friendly, she sold us a mask that was too small and did not try to fit it on him. We did not know how to use the machine and we had trouble using the mask. We took the mask back and asked for help. They exchanged it for another size mask and sent us on our way. Today we went back because he was still having trouble with the mask fitting correctly and were told their policy was 30 days for return and also that we could only return one and would have to purchase another one. We did not have over $200 to buy another mask. We were upset that policy was not explained to us at the beginning and we were upset because they said they could not find a record of the exchange but wouldn't exchange this one because we could only exchange once and we had already done that but they still had no record of it. The staff was not caring, not compassionate at all, and actually rude. When we said something about it we were told we should have complained the first day if we were unhappy. My husband asked to speak to a manager but was simply given a message by the manager that they would go by policy....rude and insensitive staff.
Very difficult people to deal with. Ordered item for me without getting all needed info. Tried to speak with General manager Roberson i think was his name, refused to speak with me. Ask for someone over him lady named Marlyn would not give me name or number. I see why their reviews are not very good. I try to shop local but these people make it very hard. If anyone knows who owns this rude place let me know please. I cant believe anyone would allow this unprofessional manner to continue
