Narrows Center for the Arts

About

Music that Matters - Art that Inspires
A premier concert venue located in the Battleship Cove area of Fall River, the Narrows features live performances and events, as well as spectacular art from a century-old mill building overlooking Mount Hope Bay.

Description

The Narrows is a 501(c)3 non-profit, charitable organization, now into the 16th year of hosting incredible music and phenomenal art year round to thousands of visitors. A mostly volunteer run organization, the Narrows is so grateful and fortunate to have a strong staff willing to give 110% week after week just for the love of it.

Featuring international, national and up-and-coming performers such as Dave Mason, Johnny Winter, Rosanne Cash, Susan Tedeschi, Judy Collins, Eilen Jewell, James Cotton, Ronnie Earle....and many more, a lot of these musicians come back year after year because of the wonderful audiences, the warm and welcoming energy of the room, and the red-carpet treatment rolled out by the staff.

A huge destination event held every 2nd Sunday of September is The Narrows Festival of the Arts which runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is FREE to the public. Held both outside on the Main Stage at the Gates of the City, and inside on our hallowed stage, the Festival offers fine music, fine arts and fine food to the thousands that turn out every year. Check out the musical line-up on the Festival page of our website.

The Narrows is host to two art galleries within our venue. When you enter you step into the Narrows Gallery which usually features multi-artist shows in any medium you can imagine.....oil, acrylic, watercolor, fabric, metal, wood, paper....and LEGO! The Narrows Gallery is proud to be featuring "The Art of The Brick" a nationally touring LEGO exhibit by famed artist Nathan Sawaya in October through November, 2011. In the far end of our venue is the Cafe Gallery featuring local artists on one linear space of wall.....all very captivating.

Also within our humble abode are 5 working artist's studios, open during concerts and special events. These incredibly talented individuals produce original work in polymer clay jewelry, oils, watercolor, acrylic and mixed media, hand-dyed fabric and hand-woven baskets.

Once you come to the Narrows you will become addicted to the energy, the atmosphere, the warmth and friendship.....and you will come back again and again.

Fun place to see a show. First time there, very easy to get to and I would suggest going early there are a lot to see in the area.
A great intimate venue for live music. It's BYOB and the tickets are general admission so get there early if you want better seats.
I was there for Jesse Cook’s concert. Narrow Center for the Arts was a proper place for this matter. Free parking, elevator and a clean restroom is available. The sound system was awesome. Round tables near the stage was a great concept. People brought some food and drink but if you want to be able to sit there you must attend there soon.
We love going to the Narrows. The acoustics are perfection, and the energy is in the air. You can feel it. We bring in a cooler and snacks, but there is fresh brewed coffee for sale too. They have great artists, we saw Jimmy Vaughn Saturday night. 5 stars for sure.
Cool place, went to see Michael Shenkar Band - not sure if I spelled his name correct - great show, nice venue
Great venue. The sound in this place is incredibly. Soft drinks and small snacks are available on site. No alcohol available. BYOB is allowed.
Awesome venue very intimate. Have seen Cowboy Junkies, John Fullbright and Bela Fleck there.
I just saw Wishbone Ash here at the Narrows Center for the Arts and it was absolutely incredible. I was blown away with an up close and personal experience. Not a bad seat in the house. I highly recommend checking them out.
Excellent venue! I just attended the Béla Fleck concert there and it was INCREDIBLE.
This was my first time attending an event at the Narrows Center. Located in Fall River, Massachusetts, just a short distance off of Route 195. The Venue is in an old Mill Building on the 3rd floor. The Show was scheduled to start at 8PM and we got there just after 6:30, with doors opening at 7:00. There was already a line when we got there, so I do recommend one should get there as early as possible, since it's open seating. They only serve coffee, water, and some desserts, but you can bring whatever you want to drink, and many people had coolers with their drinks for the night. The room held maybe a couple hundred people and the sound was outstanding. Almost all the seating had good views of the stage. One can reserve a table for about $250, but the seating behind the tables offered good views. We went to see Amy Helm, and she and her Band were excellent, and as I mentioned earlier, the sound was outstanding. I certainly recommend this Venue as a place to see some excellent shows and the tickets where very reasonable, $35.00. I definitely plan to attend shows there in the future and don't forget to bring what you want to drink and eat. Highly recommended!!!
