The National A&P Historical Museum and Research Center will be closed until further notice while we move the museum to new, larger quarters in Boulder Junction. Look for a grand reopening announcement in time for the Summer 2019 tourism season.
The National A&P Historical Museum and Research Center is dedicated to preserving the rich cultural and business legacy of the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P). Much of today's modern food products and food retailing industry was pioneered by A&P, including many industry firsts including the A&P Economy Store one-stop grocery shopping contest, private label brands, the first branded generics and the manufacturer-distributor-retailer vertically-integrated model. And while it didn't invent the concept, A&P's sheer size and wide scope did much to popularize the 1930's Depression-era supermarket concept on a national scale.
