This unique cultural and educational facility will be the second museum in the nation dedicated to preserving the history of black dolls. It is the brainchild of sisters Debra Britt and Felicia Walker .. They established the non profit organization the Doll E. Daze Project and Museum Inc., in 2006 with several objectives in mind:
To preserve doll history and culture by presenting the art of doll making and collecting through workshops and lectures.
To stimulate an interest in African American history by revealing the little-known, often-neglected facts of history with visual stimulation.
To provide a resource library of information for doll research and the documentation of printed material, photographs, and audio recording
To support and work in conjunction with other nonprofit, charitable organizations in an exchange of exhibits and educational workshop
