Over all National car rental is amazing. However their roadside assistance could use some training as well as independent rental centers that assist in roadside assistance. Renting a vehicle is smooth and easy. I use a corporate account. However, on my last rental, my vehicle was broken into and I needed to use roadside assistance. This was a nightmare experience. They sent me to the closest facility since the windows were all smashed. That facility sent me away and told me to drive to another location 30 miles away. I left and called roadside assistance and they informed me to go back to the facility. I had to argue with a guy for thirty minutes before he would even look up my account/rental agreement and then decided to help me. Overall we are looking for a different company to provide our rental car needs.
I have been using National Car Rental for many years. They always have the type of vehicle that I need. Renting is very simple as is the return check in. National Car Rentals are most consistent at any of their kiosks.
So easy to pick out my preferred car at the Emerald Aisle. A very quick way to jump in a car and get on the road. I have rented two cars from National on two recent trips and both times the cars have been in great condition and the return service was fast, friendly, and professional. National also offers good pricing.
We reserved a premium SUV more than two months ago for a two week trip and they did not have it available when we went to pick it up. We were told we could trade it in at another location along our route. After a significant amount of time on the phone with local agencies and corporate we found this not to be true unless we wanted to drive hours for a return at the end of our trip. I do not recommend Enterprise or National, because reservations don’t matter.
Everything was excellent, however the vehicle I picked up didn't come with a full thank of fuel
The guy who checked me out at the gate was super friendly. As someone who travels for work, I rent a lot of cars. Most the time I have great experiences with National. I still rent from Hertz about half the time but considering using National exclusively.
Love how the pick-up is easy and hassle free. I left and noticed the gas tank was only half full. I should have looked before I left. Brian at return was awesome at helping me out with a credit on my rental. Wasn't his fault, but the credit made me feel better when I filled up the tank to full. I do love National! Easy and hassle free.
Had to do a 1 way rental from Tulsa OK to Bham AL as had car issue. Got to the National office at Tulsa airport and the one older lady was cold to me. The younger lady was better and told me to pick any vehicle since I have an Executive status and so I load up my stuff into a truck. Then she changes her mind and says I have to use a very specific car for the one way. So I now have to transfer my stuff. The younger lady now appears annoyed. I leave and make the long trip home. The vehicle they gave me was not good. I let the National folks now in the Bham airport where I returned it. It could have been a better experience.
Late evening pick up from the airport, reserved a full size, they had nothing but trucks and jeeps. The ladies at the counter were very pleasant to deal with. My membership waives the additional insurance automatically, make sure you get the coverage you require. I'd never been to the area before and don't use Android Auto very often so take a min to figure out your route and destination. Not sure why GPS isn't automatically included with vehicle rental now days... No issues with the truck and learned the new 2.7l turbo 4 from GM is formidable. Overall good experience and convenience.
When I am able to use National I have a fantastic experience. They have recently had an issue with not having enough vehicles but I hear that is everywhere. Its disappointing because I miss out on all of my points and rewards traveling every 2 weeks.
