National Car Rental

I travel domestically quite often and have been using National Car for the past six years. I am very happy with the service and the car selection. The only thing I do not like is when I do have a reservation and they do not have cars. It doesn't happen often but when it does, it bothers me. It is usually in the smaller airports like FWA. The people, however, are top shelf.

We have used National for many many rental cars. This situation was terriable making it that we will not be using them again at this location ever. The customer service was terrible with a young woman laughing at the fact they didnt have any cars even with a reservation. Shrugged her shoulders and said "well sorry we would of called to tell you". We understand somethings happen but it makes it worse when you see a parking lot full of cars and then to be laughed at.

I’ve rented from this location twice and had a great experience both times. Very friendly staff and great cars.

The local team in Ft Wayne is great. Have been traveling there to corporate office for 15 years. Teresa and others make you feel at home.

Malik, the manager, is amazing!!! Malik will greet you with a positive attitude and make sure you are well taken care of. I got in late one night, and Malik went above and beyond to pull a new car out of the cleaning area to make sure I got the car I wanted. Customer service at its finest!!

My status is Executive Elite but at the locations below I am not allowed to choose nor am I given an upgrade for my car. At most locations you can upgrade with this status. At the Fort Wayne location and Louisville locations I have received cars that need additional mechanical work. example: Louisville one car had front end issues and I contacted National the next morning and did not receive a response until 9 am. I kept the car since I was returning that day and I could not take time away from my client to return the car. The car should have been in great shape when I picked it up. Fort Wayne: no upgrade and the car also had a shimmy to it but I did not realize this until I was driving the car on the freeway to return home - 3 hours away. Very disappointed and again the car should have been in great shape when I picked it up. Since I travel for my job I have had the opportunity to rent cars from different locations and they have been great. Cleveland Hopkins, Charleston, Portland to name a few are great locations to rent from. I still choose National because the majority of my trips have been great but I do question the cars at the locations above.

Teresa at the FWA National counter is always very pleasant and professional to work with, as are the other counter agents.

I disagree 100% with the previous reviewer. I came in on the last flight of the night and the person working the counter was absolutely pleasant. She got me settled quickly and the car I received was relatively new...and all the cars on the lot also appeared to be later models.

The service at this location is one of the worst service I mostly get. The National representatives / Counter ladies are not quite helpful and do not pay attention to the customer requirement. I am an "Executive Elite" member, which means I get to chose the car I want from the available Inventory. They always lie about the cars they have, so beneath National Rentals ethics. I really wish the service of this location improves to the level of customer satisfaction at least. I am thinking of switching to other rental service at this location.
