Fun place to go. Lots of interesting fishing related things to look at, catch pictures, old boat motors and poles, statues of fish from all over the United States and more. We spent probably 45 minutes there. Admission is really affordable too. A unique place to go.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
Place was great. We were in there for at least 3 hours and we definitely going back because 3 hours was not enough. It has all kinds of interesting stuff in it. All about fishing in the history off. Also all kinds of old boat motors, lures, fishing poles, big stuffed fish, etc. Also the gift shop is probably the most reasonable gift shop I have ever been in. The kids will love it. The adults will love. So much interesting stuff. Also entrance fee is very reasonable.
One of the best tourist traps I have ever seen. I was waiting for a person to jump out in a fish costume. Definitely needs a lot of upkeep! $8.95 a person you should really keep this place clean and in top shape. Place was dirty and a huge wasp nest right inch away from someone face. The wings smell of dampness along with dust everywhere. The city should really donate some money for the upkeep.
This was a fun stop. Lots and lots of fishing equipment. Not being a fishermen myself, once I've seen one, I've seen them all! But it was still enjoyable to walk through the museum. The view from the mouth of the fish was nice. The grounds was beautiful and well maintained.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
A must stop if you are in Hayward. My kids love the huge musky as well as the other fish statues. The other museum exhibits are interesting and really show the passion behind the sport.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
Enjoyed the exhibits and the history of fishing, seeing the record fish. Snapping some photos from the muskies mouth. Affordable admission fee, small playground for the kiddos
Fun but a bit expensive for what it was. We did it because of the iconic musky. That said, the small museums were nice and had a lot of fishing artifacts which were interesting. Would have been a 4 star but was just very expensive for a family of 5.
Cool things in a cool place. As far as considering it a hall of fame...... no not at all. When asking what it takes to be inducted I was shrugged off. These people need some people skills. It's more of a tourist trap. You guys should be more welcoming. My family tied the first fishing flys as displayed in your museum however I'm laughed at for mentioning it.
Great out of the way stop if you like fishing, was well kept with a huge property and plenty to see. An awesome collection of fishing reels, outboards and fish mounts with a bonus giant musky you can walk in.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
Such a fun place to visit! Every year we head up to a lake in the Northwoods and always take time to visit Hayward, especially the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. Not much changes here, but as my son gets older he enjoys more and more of it. His favorite is always climbing those stairs to the mouth of muskie! And then the cute little playground always keeps him entertained. We love grounds and all the information provided. There is a lot of history and fun hands on things to do. What a great place to visit!
