This would be a 1 star review if not for a nice tech who drove out to my house named Anthony, and not only arrived earlier than I thought, but he was also nice the whole time, and even spent 2 extra minutes making sure a pipe was up to code. Thanks Anthony! Not sure why your company randomly shut off my gas though. Imagine if I was diabetic and they randomly cut my electricity?
I called the emergency report number and was put on hold. Before that the computer wanted my account number. I have gone paperless and have no power. I am in the dark. Boy do I miss National Grid!!
When I moved, they closed my electric account like I'd requested, but not my gas. They continued to charge me for months. I called during this entire time to have this rectified and it took months to get anything done. People on the phone just try to get you to hang up without resolving the problem. Very passive aggressive customer service as well, treating me like I was the problem despite literally stealing from me. At the end of it all, I was given a partial refund, which they have yet to mail. That's right, mail, because they can take money at an instant, but giving it back takes 2 weeks and a paper check. You're better off living in the stone age.
I received a letter from National Grid on 22 July 2019 informing me that my gas meter was due for inspection and possible replacement; and that I must call to schedule an appointment. I called immediately; was placed on hold for 26 minutes; and eventually received an appointment for the next day, with arrival anytime between 8 AM and 4 PM. I waited all day, but no gas technician showed up. At the noon hour, a National Grid electrician arrived, consulted with me, and realized he was sent to my residence in error. He mentioned that they are experiencing big scheduling problems with a new computer system. After phoning his office, he departed. At 5:30 PM, a National Grid truck showed up, parked next to my residence for several minutes, then just drove away. After the no-show, I received no call from National Grid to remedy their failure. About a month later, on 17 August, I received a call from National Grid to schedule a new appointment; and was given a new date of 1 October at 9:30 AM. Then, on 24 August, I received another scheduling call. I explained that I already had an appointment, but was informed that it wasn't in the system. After some heated exchanges, I received my Oct 1 appointment again. On October 1, the technician Mr Jack Lacolle arrived on time and was very professional in the performance of his work. He mentioned problems with the rollout of the company’s new computer system; and was apologetic for the problems I experienced. I appreciated his concern as well as his professionalism.
It's honestly a shame I have to even give one star to this horrendous place. The worst customer service I have ever received. I paid my bill, I have a confirmation number, and email thanking me for payment. Then when for some reason they tried to make the payment again today, they couldn't stop it. You got your money, why do it again? My hard earned money gone. I was told a supervisor would call me back to fix this. Well, said "supervisor" Nikki wasn't helpful, but what really made a stressful situation worse was the fact she found my predicament humorous. She had the nerve to actually laugh as I spoke. I don't find this funny. I work in retail, never ever would I laugh at a customer. Thank you for the stress and the run around, my bank did reassure me that the mistake is on you, and they will be calling with the dispute. I hope we get Nikki for this call tomorrow.
This company is not only awful but also fraudulent. Their system decided to charge me a fee and now they accuse me of lying about me not owing it. Considering I was HOSPITALIZED when the transaction occurred, this is rude. Identity theft doesn't concern them AT ALL. They just said call the police and refused to change my account number. I haven't dealt with such unprofessional "customer service" people in over a decade. If you can go elsewhere or they'll just rip you off with mystery charges.
DOWS NOT DESERVE A STAR Worst company ever. After paying bill on Thursday. 1. They never told me to turn off the breaker... Called In Several times , I spoke to a manager who had no connection or a time a technician would be at my home. Now the first order was canceled and had to put in a new one and start the 24 hours AGAIN. Now it Saturday 25hours later and know one has shown up to turn my power back on. I called in numerous times on Saturday and was assured each time that someone would show up by 7:30 pm the latest. This is rediculous. Very disappointed. I was be sending in an official letter... Each time stating that I had a very busy two year old who I need my fridge so I can repurchase her food and give her.
Worse company in existence, I payed my bill for two years straight no problems. National grid knocks on my door one day and they inform me they have to change my meters to newer updates ones. Next month I get a gas bill for over $2000 because supposedly I was only paying an estimate for the past two years. Nothing but crooks and thieves that get away due to greasing politicians.
They dont deserve a star! Waited 12 hours for our gas to get turned on...never showed. After they gave us date and said 8 to 4 but had address wrong, then said by 8 pm. Nope...no show! Living in new apartment without hot water or stove to cook on and we have kids!!!!
We had to go to the hospital because the power was turned off with no communication as to why it was shut off. Thanks for the week in the hospital because my moms oxygen machine and monitoring equipment shut off. She could have died! We need competition in power and gas! A monopoly serves no one.
