INCREDIBLE PLACE!!! We two people in their mid-20s spent almost 4 hours there. With kids you could easily spend more. MANY hands-on science activities, animals to see, and PLENTY to learn about. Staff INCREDIBLY knowledgeable with questions. A FANTASTIC place to spend a morning :
We loved our experience! So much to see and do for all ages. Our kids 5 and 3 had a blast. A lot of educational, interactive and live animals to enjoy. Highly recommend. We can't wait to visit again and check out the 4D theater and pet the sting rays.
Fun for the whole family great place buy the year pass saves money for Multiple trips. There's another larger building where you can feed the stingrays. New exhibit featuring otters! Huge aquariums great hands activities & educational fun. They have a huge metal workshop that was used to build boat engines over a 100 years old that still works. They have a craft room featuring 3-D printers
If you have time to read all the excerpts this museum has a ton of valuable information to offer. National and Regional museum and aquarium with lots of cool tanks and educational interactive exhibits. They really lay out Dubuque's rich river history. The stingray tank, where you can pet a stingray or feed them at 11:30 and 2:30, is so great. This is only the second place I've ever been that I've been able to touch a live stingray, they are so cute! There are also tons of interactive educational play areas for kids.
Great place for the family! So much to see and do. The museum and aquarium is very interesting. It’s two separate buildings and an outside part. My daughter really enjoyed coming here. Our favorite part was the aquarium/seeing the fish.
Our whole family enjoyed our time here. We purchased tickets also to see a show while there, a 3D experience. There was plenty of informational sections, several child friendly interactive areas, cool animals, and a steamboat to tour. We spent a decent amount of time there, 4 hours I would say.
Great place for a family. Lots of hands on learning activities for young and old. Outdoor and indoor activities. History, science, with some social studies mixed in. Allow 3 or more hours for basic visits, more if you watch movies. If you arrive latter in the day, they allow re-entry the next day.
Great museum and aquarium. There were a lot of interactive visits for my 2 and 4 yo I clouding two different water tables. There was a free makers space with basic art supplies and a bunch of interesting 3-d printers which were not available for use but neat to see and an informative employee was there to answer questions. Lots of cool animals to see including otters, alligators, snakes, an eel, fish, and raptors. We were there for 2 hours and there was still more to see. We skipped over most of the more adult stuff but there was planeta to read and learn for a more mature audience.
Very very fun! I did expect a few more aquarium exhibits but it was a wonderful time! My 3 y.o. had a blast and i was worried she would be too little. I used the museum for all discount for families on snap or medicaid and paid only $7 for the 3 of us. We were able to buy imax tickets separately as well for regular price. Total price less then 30 bucks. So glad we were able to do this.
What an extraordinarily fun museum! We had such a nice time here and there is so much to see and do! The admission price is totally reasonable considering all that is included! We loved exploring the steam propelled dredge. The kids got such a kick out of getting to walk all around it, ducking into cool places on our own. The man at the entrance was super kind and excited to answer questions. The museums buildings are roomy and filled with much to see. Never did we feel too on top of others. I admit— we want to like museums more than we tend do, but this place really impresses us and we all agreed that we’d even return!
