We try to go every year to see the Christmas lights. Always a beautiful bright time! I love the steps up to the Cross, and the signs that speak of peace in the different languages!!
La Salette Shrine is a beautiful church and retreat center for all. Father Giglio and other staff members are great, attentive, and wonderful to meet and learn from. I have been here several times, alone, with the family, and with friends; for Mass as well as to just stroll the grounds, for cultural events, and of course for workshops. It is a quality retreat center, a very beautiful church for worshipping, and a great place ti simply visit. I first heard of La Salette during Christmas season when I was told to visit their Nativities and Christmas lights, it was described as the main reason to visit. Though I agree that Christmas is a great time to visit La Salette, it has so much more to offer the rest of the year as well, from religious events to a well-stocked religiois Gift Shop. There are beautiful paths all around the grounds for a contemplative walk, including a Via Crucis, a Rosary Walk and hidden gems that you should discover on your own when visiting. It has enough to see and do to fill a long stay, alone or in a group. And there is a Retreat Center that offers fantastic workshops and retreats. La Salette is for any visitor, but Christians will especially find it a perfect site for inspiration, renewal, and spiritual communion
Visited this place to see the Christmas celebration of lights. This was so beautiful. This was the first time I visited this place and am glad to have done so. This has to be one of the best Christmas lights in MA in 2020. We arrived at 5 pm but the main parking lot was already full and cars were moving in slow queues. However, beside the shrine, they have arranged for additional parking which saved the day as lots of people turn up during this time. Masks are mandatory. Food stalls are also present. Loved the fried dough. This is a perfect place to spend an evening with family during the holidays. Kid rides like carousel and toy trains were popular.
Such a nice place to go for a peaceful time. Best time to visit would be during Christmas and new year. They have great light decorations and worth the visit during holidays
We visited yesterday and I must say its an excellent place to enjoy Christmas lightnings. We reached around 5 pm,and luckily we got the parking slot but as the time proceeded, it became crowded. The lights decorations were just amazing. Apart from lights decorations, there was a beautiful church to look around, gift shops were also available. For kids, rides were there and some food stalls too.
Always a peaceful spiritual place to reflect, meditate and take a walk. Great gift shop if you need to purchase anything religious. A priest is always on property to bless anything that you purchase. Nice cafeteria for a bite to eat while on the property. Confessions and masses available as well as candles to light for special intentions. Christmas is the BEST with an illumination of lights, music, food, hot chocolate or cider and rides for the children. A must visit anytime of the year!
My family drove here from Boston for the Carnival. We stopped by at the Center afterwards out of curiosity, as I am not that familiar with the apparition and was hoping to learn more. Apparently we had arrived just before closing time, as the older, snippy staff members informed us multiple times. They seemed displeased I brought my younger children into the gift shop, which, was full of breakable items, in their defense. We also went over to the church, where there were a few pamphlets out but none of them were in english. There didn't seem to be any information we could find about the actual apparition of La Salette, which was disappointing as we hoped to learn something about what it was. The bathroom was clean however. I don't think I would recommend this place to families. We did, however, enjoy the carnival.
I went there around Christmas time last year on a Pilgremmage bus trip with my sister and cousin. Wonderful time from the ligths to the gift shop and grounds. And with some of the reviews mentioning they go every year around Christmas, I might go again this year.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
Quiet and beautiful. We unexpectedly happened upon La Salette. I had not been there since I was a teenager. My husband had never been. We spent about an hour and a half walking around the grounds with our 4 year old. So glad we stopped. Much different appreciation as an adult. We went back to see the lights with my parents. Absolutely breathtaking!!!
One of the best holiday festivities around Christmas time to go and see the beautiful Christmas lights and decorations Hanukkah and Kwanzaa they pay tribute to every holiday that fills in around that time of year and on top of that it's worth the travel and visit absolutely gorgeous I've been there twice I still can't believe they'd do that what a beautiful display of holiday coloring lights and festivities hopefully they still have the hot chocolate stand or coffee for those whichever they stay warm it is a great Christmas tradition to go enjoy
