a little off of I-80, but so worth it!! It was very quiet and relaxing stay! Very green and well kept. They have a great access point to the water for rafting/swimming as well as other games and playground structures! Great price too! We payed $10 for one night in our trailer with no hookups.
I camped here for the night on my way home to Ohio from Nebraska. Beautiful park with both RV and tent camping. Self register when you get there they don't offer reservations. A lot of amenities water pumps, bathrooms, trash bins, several electrical hookups for campers and even a shower facility. The park is right along the river with a kayak access spot. Stars at night were beautiful. Very quiet and zero cell service. Most spots have a picnic table and fire ring. Will definitely be back next year!
The plus is lots of mature shade trees. The downside: no campground map and the sites are confusing, very hilly, half the sites are on grass only, we were on a gravel site that was supposed to be level but wasn't, water hydrants are few and far between, most electric pedestals are shared so you need extra cords, bathrooms are very dated with the exception of a new 2 shower bath house, very little phone service, wifi was available but no access info. For $15 per night we were satisfied for our short stay but not likely to camp there again.
Nice quaint little state park. Looks to have some very nice camping spots and facilities. There were some raging rapids and nice trails. Hikers and campers here is your place. Not far off the beaten path and worth the visit.
Fantastic park with open camping and showers and baths and a river and I think 45 electrical hookups. Price is $15 a night. Nice little hiking trails and all around well laid out park. Nice secret near Stuart, Iowa.
There's only 1 bathroom and no showers. No cell service either. No designated swimming area. You can swim but they have leeches. We enjoyed our stay last year when they had showers and bathrooms. The parks pretty and the kids enjoyed our stay. We drove 2 hours to stay there. If we go back that way, we'll be staying somewhere else. I don't want to stay where I can't take a bath 2 or days.
Nice park for short stay. Sites are mix of grass and gravel, some with 50A but mostly 30A electric. Charge $15 with electric, $10 without. Water available from central spigots. No sewer. Next to river, grass sites may be flooded some parts of year. Stayed in 45ft Class A, able to get satellite near river.
Park is nice and has some good shady spots. However, dogs are running around with no leash. You can't really enjoy bringing your pet when their dogs take over the campground...peeing in everyone's spot.....running up to your dog when you are taking a walk minding your own business. Park ranger does nothing.
I would have given 5 stars but the showers were still closed for the season the weekend after memorial weekend.. other than that it was really great! Everyone was nice and the park was clean.. really good experience
This is a great little park very quiet easy access we loved it will be camping there again
