I love this place, whenever I feel that I have to find my holistic or plant-based items this is the first place that I go to. The service is excellent, the work is always greeting you with a smile, and the products are great products and it's not items or things that are questionable such as the longevity of how long that item has been on the shelf, or even if it's good and it's natural state.
I've been shopping here for quite a few years. I have noticed a decline in their customer service. The staff is usually standing around talking among themselves whereas before there was effort to assure customers were assisted. I have recommended family and friends who have come away dissatisfied. I'm not sure what has changed but in effort to support local businesses there is a certain amount of common courtesy that is missing. And a sense of welcome that used to be there.
Highly recomend their buyers club! Great savings. Super friendly and helpful staff. Health classes available and clean environment. Vegan products galore!!
I live 90 minutes from this store but it is definitely worth the drive. The store is clean, well organized, staff is always friendly and helpful and the selection is unbelievable! They have a ton of vegan products and the bulk food selection is one of the best I have ever seen.
I love that they have a huge selection of vegan products! They are always getting new, tasty products in that I haven’t seen before too. Definitely a great spot to shop if you are looking for a wide variety of vegan groceries.
Very nice store! all of the good healthy products great vegetarian and vegan options. Lots of good kombucha flavors. Plenty of gluten-free options also. Been shopping here for years, It's great and because of its smaller size makes it nice to get your items quickly and easily.
We LOVE this place. Very fair prices, great selection, especially for those with special diets vegan, gluten free, etc. And the staff is above and beyond. They will make you feel like family and are extremely helpful.
NHC became my go-to location for all my organic food sources. I had no prior experience with organics and how to distinguish good vs not-so-good. What really won me over were the employees and their altogether genuineness with respect to interacting with any customer, big or small. I ended up purchasing the buyer’s club membership and over my almost 3 years of being a member, I’d accrued over $2000 in savings from all of my purchases. Safe to say it was well worth every cent. There’s a lighthearted and peaceful ambience about the store that I especially love, contrasting with the small fish in a large ocean type of feeling you’d otherwise expect from big box stores. Altogether, NHC is one of my cherished and unexpected memories. A reminder of what southwest Michigan can truly produce in truly great people. The personalities and brief but always enjoyable conversations made the shopping experience as good as I’ve personally ever had in ANY store, be it there in Michigan or here in Los Angeles now that I moved back. Great bunch that deserve all good fortune in the universe!
1. Take Covid seriously and work to keep staff and customers safe through mask enforcement, sanitizing, curb side pick up. 2. Staff helpful and welcoming. 3. Good selection of products. If they don't have, they will order for you. 4. Buyer's Club deals, monthly coupons, and other specials help with the higher cost of quality food. All good reasons to keep coming back. Would recommend to anyone interested in clean food, vegan, vegetarian; and interested in supporting local business.
The store was nice and decent prices, but the cashier weighed my bulk items without subtracting the jar weight even though I gave her an empty jar to tare. So I paid a lot more than it should have. I'm sure it was just an honest mistake because the staff was really friendly.
