Part Two 6. OK, so this seems par for the course, no customer care or respect! So I go in the store the other day to pick up a few items and another black manager approaches me, which I do not know her name, and tells me I have been banned from shopping there. I asked her what on earth are you talking about, this is a public store and I have every right to shop here as a paying customer. She said she would get the cashiers not to ring up my items. So I finished picking up the items I came there for, which I can get other places and went to the register to pay for them. She was threatening me that I could not purchase these items and was banned from shopping at the store. I thought that this was totally discriminatory and she and the other manage must be in cahoots to target me. I felt like she had the same attitude as the other manager and you are a Whitey and she was black beamed from her subconscious, which was so evident. I have never felt so discriminated against in my entire life. Finally, one of the cashiers rang me up and I was done with this transaction. I asked the manager to have the owner call me. He never did, as of this writing. I left waiting for the owner to call and he never did. The manager even threatened to call the police, which I thought was totally insane and ridiculous for a paying customer who is paying their salaries through the products I purchase. 7. My wife also had an incident at this store some time ago. She walked into the store with her Native American headdress on and some male that worked at the store came up to her and asked her to leave. She felt very discriminated against of her Native American heritage. Enough is enough! It is blatantly evident to any educated person that the managers are not at all concerned about customers and should not be serving the public at this establishment, and the store owner and managers should be reported to the NY State Governor's Office. We have found all the products we usually purchase elsewhere, some at a less expensive price, with some offering free delivery. I just thought I would let the community know about this establishment and its ways of discriminating against people. The Happy ending was that we found better deals for the same products in other places.
Great source of medium-high priced vegan foods, extensive collection of teas, organic grains & beans, vitamins, oils, minerals and more. Nice selection of fresh veggies too!
*Highly Recommend for Safe Food and Medicine* *Awesome Knowledgeable Staff who are happy to help* *A Little Pricey But Great Selection* *We absolutely appreciate and enjoy shopping here for all our pharmacy & grocery needs* It's nice to have somewhere to shop that's safe. Thank you very much!
Love this place. It’s unfortunate that the area doesn’t have many health food stores, but this one is excellent. Great selection of organic produce as well as healthy snacks and plant based frozen foods.
Part One I had to post this, I will make it as simple as possible. 1. Went to Nature's Pantry, 436 Blooming Grove Turnpike, New Windsor, NY 12553 a few weeks ago. 2. I was in the store shopping for various items on sale or needed. There was a large sign above the mangos that said 5 for $5.00, OK, looked like a good deal, went to check out all items at the register. 3. Got home and noticed on the receipt that I got charged $1.49 each, so I called the store to talk to someone and a girl who took the call that the next time I come into the store to bring the receipt and it would be corrected. OK fine with me. 4. About 15 minutes later I get a call back telling me there was another tiny sign below the large sign saying a $1.49 each, which I never even noticed or saw. I wondered could they have just been saying that since I was not there anymore. So I asked to talk to the manager. Her name was Holly, who had such a dictatorial, bad attitude, was completely rude, not concerned with the situation at all, loud boisterous demure talking to me with some kind of attitude against customers, disrespectful, basicly harrassing me into believing that the big sign was not what mattered at all and didn't take precedent over some little sign that I never even saw in the first place. I am a 74 year old senior and in my entire life have never been so mistreated as I was by this manager and the other manager in the store. I am used to being able to reason with people calmly and treated respectfully as a human being and senior citizen. She had no customer respect and her underlying attitude felt like I was being treated as if I was a Whitey, since she was black. 5. She hung up the phone on me as I was trying to explain the situation, I called back and she hung up the phone again, with no respect for the customer at all. I waited awhile since I wanted to talk to the owner of the store about her militant, disrespectful behavior and the situation, who I found out is Damian Masterson. Finally, I called the other store across the river and got the name of the owner who said he was not in at the New Windsor store. I asked her to get a message to Daimon Masterson for him to call me at the name and number I provided. She said she would. I waited a few days and never heard anything back.
Best grocery store in the Hudson Valley. All organic produce and toiletries. Excellent variety and freshness. Love the hot/prepared food bar as well.
I'm giving this review, not ignoring my intuition. I've noticed everytime I I can't speak on anyone else's experience visit the produce section there is no one there. Yet, 2 seconds later there is a whole staff surrounding me. In my opinion, pretending to work while watching me. Then when I leave produce, no one's around. I did it again, and again, same results. A few weeks later I came in with my husband, and the same activity occurred. But this time two managers and staff members appeared to watch us. When we were done, the produce section cleared as well as the managers. If I didn't work with people like this before, I would have looked over the whole situation but I knew what was going on. Nature's Harvest in Poughkeepsie is superb. Almont like nature pantry but cleaner, bigger, and inexpensive.
Great place if your looking to go organic. It is over priced but this is independently owned. If price is no issue then by all means come here. I've seen someone purchase go over 200 for literally 2 brown bags. So if your on a budget this is not the place to do your shop.
My husband and I experienced this establishment for the first time yesterday and we were impressed. The cleanliness, the variety, and helpful yet knowledgeable staff all contributed to a pleasant visit. We are New to the area and will definitely return as we educate ourselves on living cleaner and healthier lifestyles.
This is a good alternative for organic shoppers since there are no Whole Foods in the area. This is one of the few places that sell the go-to organic products that I can normally only find online or at Whole Foods. Highly recommend this spot to any organic shoppers.
