Emporia's Locally Owned Health Food and Nutrition Center
Nature’s Paradise Health Food Store was started by Steve and Carol Spencer on September 1994 across from the Kress Building at 5 East 7th Street in a 300sq. ft. building. They soon out grew that location and three months later they moved on to a new location on the corner of 10th and Commercial in an old gas station. The gas tanks had to be removed and remodeling began on their new home. The store had a large awning and they organized carriage rides during the holidays beginning at their store and traveling down Commercial Street. Nature’s Paradise grew with popularity and Emporia was welcoming them with open arms. Again the store grew larger than the building could accommodate and the decision came to build on to their current location or look for a new home. Soon that home was found at 1511 West 6th Ave. in a former Country Kitchen. Remolding began and soon thereafter Nature’s Paradise was established in the location they are at today. They have supported many organizations and the local schools and sports teams and have become a store recognized by many as the place they are proud to say Its Where I Shop! They are a complete health food store taking special orders and have become a favorite to customers around the world.
