Over the years Navajo Elks Lodge No. 863 has made great strides in helping to build a better community through donations of money or charitable efforts.
Special projects are feeding the homeless, food baskets to needy families and fruit baskets to the ill and shut-in at Thanksgiving and Christmas; an Annual Christmas Party for 200-300 under privileged and disabled children and youth with new toys and direct cash donations to victims of natural disasters. The Lodge has been recognized by many community organizations including the Albuquerque Branch NAACP Footprint Award, The Sickle Cell Council of New Mexico Organization Award, proclamations and citations from the Mayor, City Council and Governor's offices.
