My "page" isn't about anything. I run a small, generally messy-looking (although I occasionally straighten things up, if time is available; not much has been, lately...) shop where I fix vacuum tube equipment used by musicians on stage and in the studio. I also design/build/clone tube guitar amps - really *good* ones. I've built gear for the likes of Derek Trucks and a few more folks whose names you might recognize. I'm a hardcore rightwinger and if you don't want an earful, don't talk leftwing politics at me. If you need something fixed yesterday, take it to someone else - I'm slow, I'm cranky and I have Asperger's Syndrome. If you can deal with that, your gear will kick more ass than Jackie Chan when you get it back. I don't play the guitar (I'm a B-3 player) so please don't bore the crap out of me and waste my time with tales of your fabulous axe - I can just barely tell the difference between a Stratocaster and a Les Paul, ok? If I need to know something about your guitar in order to fix your gear or build you an amp (or whatever) I'll ask you. Amps, we can talk about. Organs, you betcha - I've been a Hammond player for 56 years (I'm pretty good at it) and I've been fixing stage gear almost that long (I'm pretty good at that, too). My hours are erratic - if I'm there, I'm there, and if I'm not, I'm not - so PLEASE CALL FIRST and make sure I'm in before you burn any expensive gas driving to my shop. Your dogs and your small children are welcome, as long as both are housebroken and under your control. (Truth be told, I prefer the company of dogs to that of most humans - sorry, but it is what it is...) I have no website, and probably will never have one. I don't care for "social media" (at least, not the way it's played nowadays) so please don't be offended if you send me a "friend request" (or anything similar on any other platform) and I don't respond to it. If you need to communicate with me, the telephone is the way to do it. I don't send or reply to text messages; my shop phone is a landline, so if you need to send me a picture of something for some reason, call me and I'll give you an e-mail addy where you can send it.
Although it might not come through in this rant, I'm a funny guy with a great sense of humor. Sure, I'm an asshole - but find me ANYONE in the music biz who ISN'T. I'm a bit different from most of them; if you give respect, you get respect back. If you want to believe the stuff posted about me in certain quarters, bully for you...but remember, there are two sides to every story. Of course, Confucius say "Everything you read on Internet is true!" Wait, maybe that was Mr. Natural. Coulda been Flakey Foont. Hell, I bet it was PeeWee Herman. BTW - anyone else besides me think it's way lame for Farcebook to make business owners choose from rigid categories Like "Musical Instrument Store" instead of just letting them type what really needs to be said, like "PRO-LEVEL AMP REPAIR AND CUSTOM SHOP"?
