NC-HCAP strives to provide resources to pre-college and college students from all racial, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds to pursue healthcare careers.
NC-HCAP envisions a society with equitable access to culturally competent health care across all racial and ethnic groups irrespective of geographic location (urban or rural) or socioeconomic status - in short, a society where no health disparities exist.
To increase the number of individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who are educated, trained and employed in the health professions.
We accomplish this by:
- increasing awareness of career opportunities in the health professions
- cultivating interests in pursuit of health professions
- enhancing opportunities to gain access to formal training and education programs in health professions
- increasing the probability of success in completing formal training and education programs in the health professions
