I loved this kayaking loop we spent most of our day there a little disappointed we couldn't get in the water to cool off. We counted 4 gators around and some pretty big alligator gar swimming around big enough when one surfaced next to me it pushed my kayak and for my bifocal eyes to see across the lake. All in all a great day
People need to stop leaving thier trash in Lakeview Salt Water Barrier & The Sandbar areas and if they make a respectable burn spot when they burn. Wood only no trash or cans or bottles. Please Respect Nature!! Leaving it better than what it was when ya got there. Why would y'all.want to go play where its all trashed out. I'll Speak for the locals that always clean it... Keep Clean or Don't Come Out There Its That Simple. God Bless Texas
Bring your canoe or kayak and follow the Scatterman trail, you can do it in about 3 hours or slower of course. Beautiful flowers wildlife etc.
It was clean no trash! Very well kept! I will launch my boat there again!
The fishing there was great, it was very calm but there were people there threatening us and it made us want to leave.
Beaches is a really nice Park. We went to fish and just couldn't determine if it was fresh, salt,.or brackish waters because nothing was biting, largely in part of the raging current on the day of our visit. Very clean grounds with public restrooms, what a plus!! We shall return.
Part of Big Thicket Preserve...It's a beautiful area right next to the Neches River
Such a beautiful place with wildlife , if you like to fish and enjoy the quietness this is a perfect spot, you can follow the rock trail to the back and once you get there it does give you a creepy feeling like you're being watched or something is going to pop out... Also if you go at night make sure you pack a lot of shady people go there, and be prepared to see cars with their windows rolled, steamed up & rocking back and forth people sure do get their freak on
Nice place to fish. Choose the river or a number of ponds. Easy access for handicapped persons. Hubby caught a 26 pound flathead here
Great place to enjoy your solitude. Good fishing place.
