Granite's elementary STEM school integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as the platform for the Utah Core Curriculum.
Neil Armstrong Acdemy is a Pre-K through 6th grade elementary built in the Highbury area of West Valley (5194 West Highbury Parkway) and devoted to the integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as the platform for instruction in the Utah Core Standards. Rigorous math and science curriculum content is practically applied to the design and construction of machines, devices, and other manufactured things representative of engineering and other career fields. Students at all grade levels will have access to technology and mobile devices that will enable them to individualize and demonstrate their learning through a variety of modalities. They participate in group projects, simulations, and such things as video gaming rooted in problem-based learning experiences and will focus on developing the ability to think critically and solve complex problems. Students also enjoy exposure to physical and arts education common to all Granite School District elementary schools.
