Ok this was such an amazing experience… Reminds me of being a kid and the places i used to go with my Familia… Nellos you blew me away from the antipasto salad to the house dinner salad with bay shrimp, then the Cannelloni followed up by the Salto In Bocca Romana. Best meal i have had in years.Food: 5/5
Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and fine Italian food. We visited on a Wednesday evening and were seated pretty quickly. Our waiter, Guido, took our drink order then came back with some warm Italian bread and a small anti pasta plate. Nice start! We ordered dinner and the Caesar Salad - which the make table side. Very traditional. The salad making was great - the salads large and incredible taste! Classic Caesar dressing made with EVOO, egg yolk and anchovies! Finally our main course we split a veal parmigiana which was very tasty. 2 nice veal patties with cheese and delicious marinara sauce, a small side of penne and some crisp tender zucchini slices. We we too stuffed for dessert, but from looking at a few that went by our table - they looked perfect.
If you want a five star Italian restaurant in the Redding area this is the place. I ordered the seafood spaghetti I could tell it was fresh and cooked correctly. The service and presentation of the food at this restaurant is outstanding probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant. The appetizers and dessert are also the best everything was excellent. If you're looking for a great Italian restaurant this is the place. I've eaten in the finest restaurants all over the world and nothing beats a good plate of spaghetti.
Returned to Nello’s this evening for the first time in c. 10 years. The food, service, and atmosphere were as good as I remembered. My son and I had the lasagne and the manicotti. Both were delicious and very nicely presented too.Food: 5/5
We visited Nello's Place for a celebratory dinner, inviting a couple of friends. It has been many, many years since I had last dined here. We made an online reservation. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were immediately greeted and our reservation was confirmed. We were sat and we ordered drinks, while looking over the menu. There was several servers about to attend to the guests. The restaurant had a fine dining feel, but also casual. We ordered and shortly after, anti-pasta was delivered. Then salads and soup. Finally our meals. The food was well presented and of good portion size. We all enjoyed the taste of our food. The service, atmosphere and food were excellent. Prices are higher than some places, but the level of service and quality of the food, in my opinion, is worthy.
I’ve went to Nello’s many times. I have never Been disappointed. The food has always been outstanding, and the service is the best! I took my husband here for his first time, and once again great food & service. He loved it! Pricing is resealable.I had their veal and he had the filet. The cocktails were great, and the sweet Moscato was delicious.
Anniversary date with my lovely wife and the food and service was fantastic. They give the ladies a rose at the end of the meal. They do get busy on weekends. Lots of fantastic menu items. Try something new .Food: 5/5
This place looks like it hasn't been changed since the 60's. Arrived for a walk-in for 2. Host was short and rude, sat us without a bar menu. Server checked his cell phone while he was preparing our salad, table-side. He also left their giant salad cart right in front of the table for a good 15 minutes, blocking either one of us from being able to comfortably leave our table for the restroom. Luckily, another server moved it, so I thanked him for what should have obviously been done immediately. Ordered the prosciutto wrapped melon as an appetizer and got 4 giant, completely bland spears of melon with prosciutto just draped on top it. This place has full dining service sets at each table, with B&B plates, the while nine... but i didn't even get an appetizer plate to saw through my tree branches of melon! I had to try and eat these things off of a tiny B&B plate, along with everything else we ordered before our entrée. Every three bites of everything I ordered, their 15 year old busser would ask if we were done. No... I'm still chewing, dude. All in all, the service here is seriously lacking. Maybe it's because I walked in with casual attire that I was singled out, but that's no excuse. Wouldn't recommend at all. Parking: This place is in the tiniest little shopping plaza ever, right next to a discount cigarette shop. Hard to miss.
Nellos is the classic Italian dining experience in Redding. Extremely friendly and attentive staff. All the Italian options are done very well. We definitely enjoyed our time there. Never felt rushed or hurried and everything was cooked perfectly.
Intimate atmosphere with professional staff. I ordered the scallops Dore, it comes with a salad or soup, veggies and pasta. The scallops were cooked appropriately and tasty. Wife had the meat ravioli and she said it was fantastic! If you get ONE thing, get the garlic bread. Its a crispy delight.
