About

An On3 scale historical model railroad display dedicated to the memory of the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad.

A great place to learn and experience some local, and locomotive, history! The Northern Queen Inn and Old Chinese Cemetery are very close-by as well, if you would like to walk around more and take in the foothill atmosphere.
A fun little volunteer run museum. I you visit on Saturday, take a ride on the narrow Guage rail bus.
Amazing tiny museum dedicated to a small railroad that ran between the gold rush boom towns, lots of history and truly devoted volunteers. The highlight was visiting a workshop and seeing a restoration of 1885 Engine 5 taking place and listening to all the stories by the people.

Always have been a history nut, so going here is a must for me. Lots of local history you can learn here and experience. Haven't been in years so taking my family to learn some of the history was worth it for me.
Amazing...the interaction with the docent Jimmy was incredible...bought a shirt to support the Restoration of Engine #5...please come & support this jewel in Nevada City
The perfect place to take a young child into locomotives. Unfortunately I'm not a young child nor someone that into trains so I was bored fast after looking at about 15 mins worth of content. The initial wow factor of the facility is worth the visit. They will give you a full refund if you don't enjoy your experience...............its free
Nice piece of area history. Had a wonderful and very knowledgeable docent that gave us an awesome tour. Entry is by donation.
