The Nevada Division of Emergency Management/Homeland Security proudly serves the citizens of the state of Nevada in public safety, emergency preparedness, response and recovery.
The Nevada Division of Emergency Management/Homeland Security coordinates the efforts of the State, its political subdivisions, private and volunteer organizations and tribal nations in reducing the impact of disasters by planning, developing, implementing and maintaining programs for mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.

The Nevada Division of Emergency Management/Homeland Security is one of 12 divisions that comprise the Nevada Department of Public Safety. The Division is a vital component of the Department as provided for under Nevada Revised Statue, Chapter 480.130 - 480.140 and is primarily governed and/or operates under the following authorities: with public safety as a priority, NDEM assumes an all-hazards approach in its efforts to mitigate against, prepare, respond to, and recover from any natural manmade, technical emergencies or disasters.
