New Bedford District Court

Read this if you have jury duty at this courthouse and are curious about parking. As far as courthouses go, this one is pretty straight forward. All the staff are really nice and helpful, provided you don’t barge in acting like a jerk. For parking, there is a lot that is dedicated to staff. I got to the court about 30 minutes too early and ended up parking in front of a meter. Upon entering the building a guard said I could park in the lot in the very back row with the yellow lines. I’d advise checking with them first just in case. About 10 minutes before I was scheduled to be at the courthouse a dude appeared with a yellow coat handing out little cards to put on your dashboard that say “Jury duty.” Definitely find this person and get that card so you’re not at risk of getting towed. By doing this, parking ended up being free. I’m not sure if this is common here, but there is a way to avoid a paid lot or metered parking. Just head inside and ask first. Good luck!

Everyone was very helpful filing confusing paperwork. Looks like they all help each other out when it gets busy. Very patient and unlike the site says you are able to bring in your phone.

I was called in for jury duty. I am happy to fulfill my Civic duty, however this is not the army or military, I should not be risking my life on these horrible roads to go to jury duty and miss a day's pay from work... The snow storm happened four days ago and yes I lost control of my car on ice and slush twice. Town, City whatever of New Bedford, you can do much better... Plow better, and treat the roads better or you very likely will get people hurt.

Today is Thursday February 9th and ALL courthouses are closed today! It usually says if it's closed but for some reason it isn't saying that on main page, so just an FYI there u got it.......... Thank

The security guy and lady here were awesome and really helpful.
