A must visit place while you’re in new Bern! The guides were exceptionally knowledgeable in giving a history of the town. It’s more than just fire memorabilia although they have a ton of it and it’s really neat. The history of the department details a lot about the town, it’s people, and how it’s evolved over time. Overall a great visit! They have a scavenger hunt for kids too.
I had way too much fun here! I had an amazing tour guide who was a retired volunteer firefighter. The space is incredible. You learn so much not only about fire trucks, but the entire town of New Bern. If you have kids, they have a dedicated kids space.
Amazing Experience! We had a very thorough and kind tour guide that told us about all of the fascinating history and also some of his personal experience. Very family friendly, handicap accessible, and has a children’s play room. Very kind staff and excellent cleanliness. We were reminded of the hard work and amazing service our firemen do that we often forget is very difficult! We love this place and will definitely be back.
Had a great time. Doug Foster was our guide through a very detailed history of the two fire departments in New Bern. It was amazing that almost all of the equipment you see is original.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$6–10
Historic Firehouse with vehicles and other items dating back more than a century. Good guided tour and then you can stay for as long as you like. $7/adult, $5/kid, and children under 5 are free. Right in downtown New Bern. Good for about an hour to hour and half, especially with small kids.
Lots of local firehouse history with plenty of restored antique firefighting equipment. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Well worth the visit. History buffs will really enjoy the tour.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
