Home delivery is very bad. Hard to get a paper on Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Calling customer service has been a waste of time. I will not renew my subscription. And cost is out of control.
Have asked for a box to be put in place for the newspaper since I ordered this service for my mother-in-law and still have not received one months later. I call every week and nothing happens. Poor service, news paper is wet on rainy days to where she can't read the paper, and sometimes it is not delivered. Sun Journal gave no reimbursement for the papers that were ruined or not delivered. I would not recommend this to anyone.
There is no way to talk to a person to resolve an issue. There is a long list of multiple phone menus to go through only to find none that help and then be told “goodbye.”
If it's local news, such as news worthy accidents, you might not want this paper. Plenty of arts, theatre and such but basically if it's not AP, it's not printed. We enjoy the puzzles, and they have improved on this, putting all of them on one page. It sure makes it more convenient.
So you are unable to enter the facility for whatever reason, there are plenty of signs on the doors with all kinds of phone numbers of people that are supposed to answer all your questions because the lobby is closed. If you call the number ending in 5633 and 8101 NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. I tried every single extension and it keeps looping around over and over again. Good luck getting any live person to speak with about having something published in an inept local newspaper. Im not surprised, we're talking about New Bern NC. You complain about the decline in published papers, well this is a prime example as to why, when you can't even speak to someone about paying them to publish something in their newspaper!
Very good.. Hello Karen,, thanks for all the help with the Farther"s Day add..
THE SUN JOURNAL DAILY NEWSPAPER IS EDUCATION FOR ALL AGES ACROSS ALL SOCIO ECONOMIC CLASSES. Raised in New Bern. NC I remember when our little town paper was delivered at 3:00pm in the afternoon so my family & I read the paper after work. Relaxing after a day at work reading of the news when the town's population of 16,000 in the mid 1970s. Eventually the Sun Journal began delivery in the early morning. The ability to read National, Community, Governmental, Civic. Agricultural, as well as accolades of school children, local craftsmen, Civic leaders & Pillars of our community has been covered well & keeps us aware of just how well & talented the folks of our town are! The small articles of interest such as Tom Glascow's expertise to assistant many vegetable & home owner landscapers is read by farmer's, landscaper' the home Gardner & in home. Mom growing houseplants. Tom's article is just 1 of many that provide gainful meaning to 1000s of folks in our community just as I'm certain the little section of the card game Bridge although I've no clue how to play. Just examples of thousands of articles that reach people yet no one speaks of. It is a well known statistical fact that 5000 consumers will complain compared to 1 person reporting great service or the great public service one provides. With this I hope to represent 10,000 who enjoy our local newspaper informing us not only of National, State news but news of our friends & neighbors. The small articles such as Tom Glascow's professional agriculture shared knowledge is an abridged version of Farmer's Almanac. We are folks vegetable gardening, flower gardening, growing houseplants & as novices try to take pride in maintaining our properties for aesthetic appeal. The puzzles & mind spins kept my Grandparents brains active & dementia free & my young twin sons began reading appropriate news articles as the page of New Bern Top Nes & National news with a bit of lesser national new casting over to page 2. These are remembrances of a little girl raised in the Historic District on Johnson St, just a walk from Craven Co. Library. It was & continue to be quite interesting for another section to carry news of local residents, business professional & organizations running local opportunities for citizens to join for fum or give back to the community. As I raised twin sons, it was quite coincidental my sons lives were documented by photo in the many Civic Events provided for us to attend. Parades, Festivals, School Events & most recently my son Ross Hardeman was featured in 52 Faces, a young adult Professional using his little spare time volunteering, something his Dad & I did not know until we read the paper later that day. As a life long New Bernian,I do not know life without the Sun Journal & watched it grow & changed with graphic & the technology whirl from the 1960s until the now, the world of 2020 where our little newspaper has grown in size, covers areas of interest reaching interests of newly relocated folks to our area in a most appealing manner I'll remember my Grandfather, a man working 3 jobs but never neglecting to reading the sacred Sun Journal. However by Sunday his body stiff & aching would place the newspaper on the floor, lay on his belly, head & arms hanging over the bedside to read & turn the pages as he muscles simply ached too sore to sit & hold his copy of the Sun Journal upright. I knew as a child, if it was most import to keep a great of international. National & of course community news. THE SUN JOURNAL IS EDUCATION FOR ALL AGES. to read our most trust worthy local newspaper when my beloved Grandpa could not hold it upright, it was something I must pick up to read & began as a child & when1st married saved coins in a jar in order to save money for my subscription to Sun Journal.
