I was taken from the new Baptist ER on 10th Street to Baptist Floyd around 2:00am on Oct 22, 2022. I believe it was by crew #57, they did a professional job & kept me informed the whole trip. The driver sent to Jeffersonville High School & the dark haired attendant went to Charlestown High School with my grandson Zach Hill.
My wife suffered several bad seizures in a row from what was later determined to be a large hemorrhagic stroke but the New Chapel EMTs would not take her to the hospital. Despite my wife being semi-incoherent and shaky, the lead female EMT discouraged her from getting medical attention, i.e., she kept advising my wife her that she did not have to go to the hospital...to the point where I insisted she stop. Minutes after the EMTs left empty-handed, I found my wife unconscious on the floor and drove her to the hospital myself. Salt in the wound was having the same EMT transfer my wife later that evening to a different hospital and shrug off her role in forcing me to perform the EMT's job at our house.
We called because we thought my mom was having a stroke. These were the most knowledgeable and kind Tech's I have seen. They knew exactly what to look for. It turned out not to be a stroke but low blood sugar. If they hadn't acted as quickly as they did with the knowledge they had my mom would not be with us today. Thank you. We will never forget you in our prayers.
