Welcome to New Gloucester Fire Rescue! We're located in our new home on Route 100 in New Gloucester, Maine. We provide services to our citizens and businesses for fire response, medical emergencies, and motor vehicle accidents.
The department covers approximately 48 square miles that make up the community which has seen substantial growth over the past several years, while still maintaining its rural character. Forty-five well trained and dedicated members and a fulltime chief respond to all types of emergencies including fires, medical calls, accidents, hazardous materials, and off-road incidents - to name a few.
The department has seven response vehicles including two engines, two tankers, a squad truck, a utility truck, and an ambulance. The department still has, in running condition, its first fire engine, a 1928 Model-A engine.
The department handles on average 600 calls each year with an operating budget of $200,000. Our staff is active and well trained and the department actively participates with its neighboring departments in mutual aid response agreements and trainings.
