This was one of my top five meals I’ve ever eaten. My family was on Orcas Island for a wedding and so my immediate family dined in along with two aunts and two uncles and their families as well. We were all at separate tables, but we were all in there. We waited a bit to get inside, but that was more than understandable since there were so many of us, and boy was it worth it. Every single one of us said it was delicious. That day, their special was the Dutch Baby with cherries and we got the last one for the day and it was amazing. I got the savory crepe with a tomato chutney and the waitress gave me a disclaimer ahead of time that it packed a flavor punch and she was definitely right. The chutney, specifically, was what put this meal in my top five meals ever. I live across the country, but am already hoping we can go back so I can get it again. Vegetarian options: Lots of them!
Truly my wife’s kind of place—gorgeous view, delightful decor, a lovely helpful server, and Amazing food! I had the classic eggs Benedict and it was quite good. The home fried potatoes were delicious, crispy on the outside but wonderfully creamy on the inside. My wife had the mushroom crepe with tomato chutney and asked for a side of the tarragon hollandaise sauce. We both enjoyed the tasty chipotle hot sauce too. She was in Heaven with all the remarkable flavors, which makes me very happy as she’s a bit harder to feed in most restaurants. I’ve got meat-y and pasta favorites that are pretty hard to mess up, but not the case for her. We both loved the view—just across the street from the inlet on a lovely sunny day—and the ambiance. She was a happy cat over the stylish black & white woven chairs and the beautiful art on the walls. Well worth a visit to this stylish place for an excellent meal!
New Leaf has the best breakfast on Orcas, hands down. My wife and I loved it. The staff were all so friendly and the atmosphere was great. My wife recommends the Kale and Mushroom Eggs Benedict on the GF English muffin and I loved the Two Egg breakfast with the Brown Bear Baking wheat sourdough toast and marionberry jam!! We will be back next time we are in Orcas!
We really enjoyed our quiet Thursday night dinner here. We made reservations about a week in advance which we recommend. The menu is small but the quality is exceptional in taste and ingredients. The service was great and the wine menu is superb. We had the braised lamb and fried branzino with an arugula salad and buffalo mozzarella so we didn’t have any room for dessert. Vegetarian options: They have a few items on the menu that are vegetarian.
Dinner here was SO good, i think we’ll come back to orcas island just for here! We came for dinner two nights and breakfast once, and it never disappointed.Food: 5/5
We come back every year because the food and service are exceptional. This time, we had the crab cakes, fries, two pasta dishes, and chocolate cake with cremeux. Out of this world.Food: 5/5
Such a lovely, open setting, indoor and out. The view is spectacular on a clear day. The space is impeccably clean. The food is beautifully plated; portions are generous. We went with something out of our standard expectations: duck & waffles, kale & mushroom benedict. Both have aspects that are boldly flavored. The chili maple syrup on the waffles we got on the side. Despite disliking spicy foods, we found it to be a true enhancement in conservative portions. The kale is full flavored as is the tarragon hollandaise. It’s a great choice for the veggie lover. Service was consistent without being overbearing. Overall, a lovely experience.
Beautiful view, great service, and delicious food. We arrived at 12:30 pm on a Monday and were sat on the patio. Service was very fast and we got our food within 20ish minutes. We enjoyed the traditional Benedict I would note that the sauce was more of a béchamel than a hollandaise, Crab Cake Benedict, and Bloody Mary. Overall- great experience, would recommend.
Great happy hour deals, large menu selection and everything is tasty. We especially liked the black cod and short rib pasta special.
New Leaf cafe has hospitality figured out. Excellent food and service, along with a creative menu that boasts a variety of options. It is one of my favorite restaurants on beautiful Orcas island.Food: 5/5
