I’m reading so many negative reviews but I’ve only had really great experiences with the Dept of Health - Glens Falls. They were very helpful when I first started my food business. Answering many phone calls and emails in a timely manner. Always kind and respectful. I’ve had this experience with at least 4 different people from this branch. I’ve had 2 separate inspections one for temp food permit and one for a food establishment both inspectors were kind and helped me understand the process better by answering all my questions. We are now currently building a commercial kitchen and yet again, everyone we have come in contact with has been great and super informative. I’m sure it’s not an easy job to have and they probably deal with a lot of characters so I commend them for keeping a good attitude and being kind despite what they seem to deal with on a daily basis.
Extremely rude. Needed a new permit for my business since ownership was transferred. Woman in her 30's with dark brown hair refused to give her name. She asked me questions and when I answered them she yelled at me telling me thats not what I asked and kept rolling her eyes at me. Honestly why does she need to know anything about my permit. Just give me the form I politely asked for. You even knew I was comming for the form as the new owners called ahead. We have been in business for 20 years and I would never treat her the way she treated me. Clearly she has an overbearing need to be in control of stuff at work and must not have any control over her own personal life and is trying to compensate. I hope I never need to go back.
I stopped in to drop off paperwork and the woman behind the desk a younger woman with brunette hair rolled her eyes and she had to get up and come to the window, rudely says “ what do you need”. I told her I had paperwork To drop off as I was signing in and she snaps “I’ll just take it. “I asked if I retain a copy and she again snaps “not if you want a new license.” I gave her the paperwork and politely asked what her name was and again she snaps why you don’t need my name and I another employee rolls out of his area in a chair and states we don’t have to tell you anything. I was flabbergasted at the behavior and discourteousness of this young woman and the male employee.
There's an inner foyer that you check in. No photos and no pictures. Speak through the window for help. They say feel free to wear a mask.
Still not answering the phone due to being busy with Covid when there are no covid cases in the area and mandates have been lifted. Left a few messages and a week later still no return call. I guess I’ll try going in person to get my questions answered ugh
