Took a client here for an apartment, the front door wreaked of weed and the man and woman at the front desk did nothing but shut talk about coworkers for the entire hour I was here. I know Christine got fired for HIPPA violations and I don't even know who Christine is. Disgusting and unprofessional - do they not have WORK to do??? I will never let anyone I care about come here and will report this to my company so our clients can be brought to a more appropriate setting.
Thank you to emergency room staff for making a scary situation that much worse! My partner is doubled over in such excruciating pain he can barely walk, and definitely can't drive himself. We happen to have our baby with us because it's 1:30 in the morning you expect me to just leave her home alone to fend for herself?? so you won't let me back into the room, yet refuse to keep me apprised of my partner's situation because we aren't married. Hmmm....problematic, no? I asked why I couldn't go back with my daughter. Apparently that's never been asked, because she couldn't answer me and instead offered to go tallk to her supervisor because exceptions can always be made yet the receptionist, Meg, interrupted to shut her down, gruffly telling me that's just how it is. Funny, I checked visitor restrictions and guidelines, but there's NOTHING about age. I'm observing incredibly loud and rude staff who are more concerned with discussing their drama and playing on their phones than actual patient care of those in the waiting room. Do NOT recommend. Nothing has changed. I'm sitting here having a panic attack, not knowing if he's even conscious at this point, going into surgery, okay or not okay...I know nothing and have no idea how long I'll be sitting here. My head is racing and I'm doing my best to keep calm. Very poor job, Newark, very poor job!
This review is in regards to the Imaging portion on site at the hospital. I have never been admitted. The staff are professional and friendly, and the new wing at the Marshall Pavilion is very well-appointed and comfortable. There is even a waiting area outside which includes a couch two chairs Ottomans and a coffee table. All in all the atmosphere puts one at ease. I especially like the offices that are set aside for intakes. They are completely private. No chance of other people listening to your private details.
My daughter was in the ER last night with extreme dehydration from pregnancy. Amy, our nurse was excellent! She showed compassion more kindness than we have ever received in an ER setting. She went above and beyond. We wish every nurse was like her. Thanks Amy! Our stay was Monday March 13,2023 night shift. Give this nurse a raise!
My son is 20 and has a severe chronic health condition. He lives at home. I took him in today with a new and extremely concerning health problem. We stayed for 12 hours in the ED. Then they admitted him and locked me out. They said I couldn't stay with him, even though I was told earlier I could. I was told he would be in a shared room. My son asked for me to stay, but they wouldn't allow it. Then they made me leave, and they put him in a private room!!!!!! I am literally irate!
Some people were friendly. Some were miserable. Concerned about ineptitude though, I have chronic pancreatitis and could not stop throwing up one morning. To the point where I threw up some blood. Unfortunately, fluids and stronger pain meds are required to get it to subside. I went there. They gave me benadryl, finally after 6 hrs of treatment, after 3 hrs of waiting, they gave me something stronger. Means nothing to most, but I just found out today they never measured my lipase or amylase levels in my blood which are the most important tests, firsts one done at every hospital. They kept me 2 days, wouldn't give me pain meds or really treat me, took me off fluids top early. I'd strongly advise if you are able to deal with the ridiculous waits at rochester area ED's to do that. You'll get actual treatment there Not whatever it was I experienced.
Newark Emergency department is a joke the main building doctors/nurses are lovely. Ive been to this hospitals ER multiple times and each time the experience gets worse. Rude front desk staff, nurses spend most of their time gossiping to eachother loudly even had a nurse begin to come into my room once while gossiping then dropped the door and turned around to go "because no do you know what she did?" And continue gossiping with the other nurse. This time I went in with chest pain at 7:16pm I was checked in, I understand a busy ER but I waited until 1am when I finally decided to leave. They rushed me in for an ekg without having ever spoke to me and when I tried to explain I didn't believe it was heart related they then quickly sent another nurse out to try to decide if they should just send me home in front of everyone in the waiting room discussing my issues, felt like a major hippa violation. After that they said that "they'd try to see if they could get me back" and proceeded to take people who came in after me. So i finally left as it was clear to me that they had no plans of getting me in, even after seeing multiple people leave; meaning they had openings. The only positive thing I'll say about this visit is the nurse that did my EKG was very nice. If you need to go to the ER I wouldn't waste your time at the newark ER drive a little bit farther to a better hospital.
I was cared for at the Marshall Birthing Center at Newark-Wayne, and I have nothing but good things to say about the nurses, doctors, and other staff on the 4th floor - even those that cared for me in passing. Specifically, Tandi and her trainee I'm sorry, I'm just horrible with names! made me feel so cared for. I never felt inconvenient for asking for things or ringing the "nurse bell." I was a nervous wreck going into the OR for my cesarean; but Tandi talked me up to get my mind off of it. Her trainee held my hand! Despite being scared to death, they didn't make me feel like I was being dramatic or unreasonable. The anesthesiologist, as well, dealt with my pain and discomfort in a very professional and immediate way. I still feel so fortunate for the experience, despite the physical trauma of a major surgery because *everyone* at this birthing center made it a memorable one. Thank you! Thank you! To the night and day crew at Marshall Birthing Center!
3 1/2 hours of them doing nothing and not checking on me, I was moved from the weighting room to the family room, I proceeded to beg for a bed because I was having gallbladder problems. Let alone I went in the other night before, they always miss diagnose you the first night I was told it’s just a tummy ache. After not getting seen and begging for a bed and puking I finally just went home it was pointless to stay and get checked out in their eyes. Note to self go somewhere else.
They put my mother in a room with blood and boogers on the wall, the floor was dirty, people where yelling for help and they where just standing around talking. They wouldn't give her her meds, she asked for a water and after 6 hours they still hadn't given her one. She was scared to death at this facility. I'm calling the state and reporting this place for neglect and misconduct. Don't go to this hospital it is disgusting.
