Description

Newport Memorial Park in Middletown, Rhode Island is located in the peaceful countryside and yet is only five minutes from Norman Bird Sanctuary and 15 minutes from the beaches and downtown Newtown. There is a small pond and stream, which flows through the beginning of the park and under a small bridge that you have to cross to get to the main cemetery. The cemetery has 18 sections, some with lovely gardens, and there are several sections that are dedicated to the veterans. Some have a wonderful view of the bay, which looks out from the top of the grassy hill.

"Whether you prefer in-ground burial, above-ground entombment, or a permanent memorial choice specific to cremation, we have options ranging in price and style to accommodate those needs."

My Dad still doesn’t have a marker. Many attempts made to contact the office. My last call ended with “I have to go downstairs and look for it.” That was around Thanksgiving. My Dad passed in June. Thankfully my sister made a homemade Marker. So disappointed! Words cannot express the heartache when my Mom married 63 years visits an unmarked grave of my Dad. No phone calls returned as promised and no sympathy from the office. Also the road conditions entering the cemetery is impassable without falling into the pot holes. Please find my Dad’s Veteran marker.
My grandfather passed over a year ago, still don't have his marker in the ground. No phone calls or sympathy from the office, which also looks like trash. The cemetery is not maintained at all. They've had his marker for 3 months or better and nothing from them. Paid services and can't get anything done. The entire place looks like trash and the news people don't return calls either
My mother's head stone has been sitting in front of the building for 2 months. I was told a new company has taken over and they would take care of it, that was a month ago.As of today nothing but near my mom is a new burial w a head stone. Makes no sense.
I have been trying for over a month to get hold of someone at this cemetery. Numerous calls have gone unanswered. I tried the email address that was on the site, I did get a response saying that it was the wrong email. I hope that someone from this cemetery reads this review and updates contact info!
Hello, My parents were buried at Newport Memorial Park in the late eighties. I have watched this cemetery deteriorate ever since. There is one main entrance only where the pot holes are so large, one is forced to drive directly through them. I was going to send an email to request this be repaired however to no surprise, an email address is not available.... All roads through the cemetery need to be repaved. I will be complaining to the town of Middletown and will check if there is a state commission that oversees cemeteries.....
November 2021. I am very disheartened that someone took two brand new expensive flower pots that I filled with spring bulbs off my parents and grandmother's graves at Newport memorial park cemetery. I paid quite a bit of money, time and care in planting. I have been doing arrangements on my parents and grandmorhers graves for years and no one has ever taken from their graves until recently. I put the pots out on Sunday, went back to water bulbs on Tuesday and the pots were gone! I hope the person who did this is very ashamed of themselves. Stealing from someone's beloved is a mortal sin. might not be watching you but God certainly is!! for you soul. Nuff said.
My husband has no marker after 10 months. Grounds are a mess.. Feeling very disrespected.
Shameful how long you have people waiting for their loved ones plaques to be placed!! A service was paid for why isn't it getting done?
My Gramps decided long ago to be buried in this land. I honor his memory of it by always coming by to visit him and my Gram. Once Loved always Loved for his greatness. Trusted and Loved! Kristen Jean
My brother is interred here. One of the most peaceful places on the island.
