As a pediatrician based in Newton Wellesley area, we provide highly individualized & compassionate care to each and every one of our pediatric patients.
In January of 2001, I opened Newton Wellesley Children’s Doctor; a solo pediatric practice. I wanted to provide a truly individualized, high quality care for my patients in a small traditional office setting. My goal was to create a caring and compassionate family centered practice, where each and every patient is treated the way I would want my own children treated for their medical care.
I decided the best way to provide true continuity care for my patients was to become a solo practitioner, where I would be the Pediatrician taking care of their medical concerns every day. In my solo practice, each and every patient has consistent access to me as their own Pediatrician every time; day and night. This, I believe provides my patients with the type of continuity of care old-time family doctors afforded their patients, not so long ago. During the office hours, I provide all medical care for my patients, and during evenings and weekends I am also accessible for your urgent questions that cannot wait until the office opens. I believe parents know their child best, and when they feel it is time to get their child checked by their Pediatrician, we accommodate their wish for an appointment without any hesitation.
When I first became a mom, I realized firsthand the importance of viewing each child’s health issues from their parent’s perspective. I modeled my practice to give enough time to address parent’s concerns at each visit. This unhurried and low key style has helped me build close relationships with my young patients as well as their parents; which I believe is very important.
In my 20 years of pediatric practice, I have seen my little patients grow up to be adolescents and young adults with a close connection to me as their Pediatrician; another trusted person beside their parents they can reach out to. There are quite a few patients that continue to see me well into their college years and sometimes for a short time thereafter. During this transitional time into the adult world my patients often find it easier to address their medical concerns with the same doctor they’ve known growing up.
