I am new to personal training and Training Ground. Should have done it years ago! Nice gym open only to those who are working with a trainer. You'll find the usual gym equipment, but uncrowded and with plenty of room. Feels like a safe space and a "no judgment zone." The process was simple: I met with Steve who asked about my training goals, he showed me around, and based on my goals and schedule, matched me up with a trainer. The only thing missing is a shower so I can head straight to the office after working out instead of having to detour home.

Training Ground is a wonderful place to train. They are conveniently located in downtown Bethesda. They have a great, open space, with all the equipment you could need. But the best thing about Training Ground is the trainers. I have been working with Tony for over a year and could not be happier. His workouts are custom tailored to me and my needs and are super effective. I always look forward to our weekly training sessions.
My son worked out with Steve Evans for the second summer in a row, and Steve took my son's personal training to the next level. My son added size and strength over the 8 weeks that they worked together, and Steve, with his extensive knowledge of the human body, engaged him with exercises that would not only help with baseball, but also prevent injury. We are looking forward to a third summer with Steve in 2024.
I have been working out with Jenai since the beginning of my pregnancy. I was a bit worried with working out and she helped me feel confident in being able to do work outs that were the best for being pregnant. I feel like it really helped me to maintain better balance and control my weight gain. Training Ground and all interactions with Steve has been great overall and I am really glad I found it. It is definitely a financial investment but I am very glad I committed!
My wife has been working out with Steve Evans at the Training Ground Bethesda and talked me into giving it a shot, and I sure am glad she did. Not only is the environment conducive for a great workout, supervised by great trainers Steve is ours and is excellent, but the fashion in which we are trained has been very rewarding. In fact, I like it so much that I am now trying the golf specific training and hoping to improve my game on the course next summer. Thanks TC and Steve for helping us to aspire to bigger goals!
Keren is AWESOME! She makes sure to push me every time I meet with her and I definitely feel stronger because of it. I love to travel and when I travelled this year to Europe I noticed I was never out of breath anymore when climbing all the steps and hills that often come with traveling to Europe : This wasn’t the case a few years ago! Made my travels much more enjoyable. She is also so fun to work out with that I hardly feel the hour go by!! I consider her my friend as well as m try trainer now. Thanks for everything Keren!
Steve’s golf focused training program has been super helpful for my game. The strength training element has gotten my swing speed up considerably in just a handful of sessions. Highly recommend it.
I’ve been working with Isiejah for about a year at Training Ground, and it’s been great! I always look forward to workouts with Isiejah – he knows when to push and motivate me to work harder and celebrates my achievements, even the small ones. My strength and endurance have improved enormously through CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting-style training. He’s great at programming progressions into my sessions so I can learn new skills, and Training Ground has all the equipment needed for great workouts.
I’ve been working with my trainer Hillary at Training Ground for a couple months and she has been such a source of support. She is knowledgeable about nutrition and has made helpful suggestions to ensure I succeed in this journey. Our workouts have not always been easy but I appreciate the encouragement that she—and the other trainers—provide to keep me going. 100% recommend.
