Nicole's journey began seven years ago when she purchased her first sewing machine. Being raised enveloped in art and New York galleries, her design aesthetic takes a poetic turn rather than a trend-conscious fashion turn. As a child she would sign her artwork with "paloma", her middle name, and creative persona. It seemed only fitting to name her newly budding business "nicole paloma", a link to her artistic upbringing. Nicole is proud to be an artist who uses soft beautiful fabric as her medium. She sees the challenge of creating patterns which flatter a womans' body as a puzzle with the final outcome being clothing which makes women feel beautiful. She has been known as going against the grain not following trends or fads… and so far that practice is working well. The community has embraced the homegrown business appreciating the artistry and enduring styles all of which are sewn locally.
The label has been shown in Southern Living Magazine (April 2013) and VIE Magazine along with several fashion blogs. South Walton Fashion Week 2013 featured nicole paloma as the headlining show and it served as the debut of the np couture line.
