Wanted some breakfast and I was close by to Niecie's so I had to give it a try. If you are looking for a great breakfast, you must spot here. Tried the pancakes and they were to die for. Well worth every penny! Also tried the French toast and it was amazing! Loved everything about the food and we have to go back to try their lunch menu.
First and last visits Spaghetti day old or left heating all day noodles mushy no texture Spaghetti sauce flavor okay , meatballs a pound of salt couldn't barely eat them greens I trashed couldn't eat way too much salt, corn bread Old crumbled apart burnt peach cobbler I haven't tasted it yet. Overall high priced need new cook. Update peach cobbler decent portion, but all bread mushy doughy crust No more than 4 peaches.
Just do yourself a favor and go! Foodie friends have been telling me about this place for years, and just haven't made it... Until today!! It did not disappoint!! First: We had LaShawn I hope I spelled it correctly wait on our family, and she was extremely pleasant! She gave suggestions, laughed, listened to the kids, checked on us multiple times, and just gave great overall service!! Second: Everything we ordered was great! But let me tell you, I snuck a piece of my son's pancake, and everyone at the table ended up stealing bites of it. It was so good! His plate was completely cleaned! It was probably one of the best pancakes I've had in my life! Yum!!!! I had the pork tenderloin, and it was bigger than the bun which is important to me, moist, tender, and just really good! French fries were salted well and crispy! Daughter had catfish, but we didn't get to try any of it, because she didn't share. She says, it was delicious. We will definitely be going back! I need to order a plate of pancakes for myself, and I'll need try the chicken and waffles! Kid-friendliness: The kids food is not sub-par! It's just a smaller portion of food. Wait staff was great with the kids!
The food speaks for itself: classic, hearty, and delicious. The service was attentive and so extremely friendly. Our first time coming here and the servers and food ensure we will be back for more. I can’t wait to explore more of the menu.Food: 5/5
Coming here felt like visiting family! It was so comfy and inviting and I loved the food. I kept it simple for my meal but it was still everything I wanted and they cooked what I asked for exactly how I asked for it. I definitely recommend this place!Food: 5/5
I ordered the baked chicken, mac and cheese, spaghetti, and various desserts: peach cobbler, sweet potato pie, pound cake, and caramel cake. As far as soul food and good southern cooking goes, every black person in America has had better home cooking than what you will get here. I had high expectations, but was not very satisfied with the food. It was not awful, but definitely not great. The chicken was dry and seemed overcooked. The dressing was a little salty and just not the best dressing I've had Cracker Barrel's Thanksgiving dressing is much better. The spaghetti had an okay flavor, and the mac and cheese was pretty good. The desserts were the best thing. The peach cobbler did not disappoint--it was sweet and gooey like you want. The sweet potato pie was great. The caramel cake was great--moist. It was vanilla cake that has a caramel flavored icing. The pound cake was the only disappointing dessert. First off, it was strawberry pound cake, which the menu did not say. I was expecting plain vanilla pound cake and got strawberry, and it was just okay, nothing special. I got ice cream and they give you a big portion of that. Not just one scoop. There are also many more desserts to choose from on the menu, so I will definitely order desserts here again. I would also be interested in trying some of the more diner type items--like the pancakes or chili. I have a feeling that this restaurant os probably great when it comes to diner food, and only so-so when it comes to soul food.
When it comes to soul food, this restaurant truly captures the essence of Southern comfort and flavor. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The menu is a treasure trove of soulful delights, with classic dishes that transport you to Grandma's kitchen. The fried chicken is a standout, with a crispy, golden coating that gives way to juicy and flavorful meat. Each bite is a nostalgic journey, reminiscent of family gatherings and cherished recipes passed down through generations. But it doesn't stop at the fried chicken. The macaroni and cheese is a creamy indulgence that oozes with cheesy goodness. The collard greens are tender and seasoned to perfection, providing a healthy and flavorful side. And don't even get me started on the cornbread – it's moist, buttery, and the perfect companion to any dish. The menu also offers a variety of soulful sides and desserts that complement the main courses. The candied yams are a sweet delight, while the black-eyed peas burst with savory goodness. And if you have room for dessert, the peach cobbler or sweet potato pie are heavenly treats that round off the meal on a high note. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, with soulful music playing in the background, creating a relaxed and comforting ambiance. The staff is attentive and friendly, always ready to recommend dishes or share stories behind the menu items. Whether you're a longtime fan of soul food or a newcomer to this rich culinary tradition, this restaurant will leave you satisfied and yearning for more. It's a place where the flavors of the South come alive, serving up soulful dishes that touch both your palate and your heart. Prepare to indulge in a soul food experience that will make you feel right at home.
So I asked locals where to get authentic soul food I was told to try Niecie's out I'm from South Carolina my grandma lived in the low country all her life and man she could cook!! . . The staff is so friendly and welcoming their German chocolate cake literally TAKES the cake. I'm certain the collards are frozen. I get it collards are a pain to clean and prep. They had good flavor tho. Sorry Niecie's I wasn't impressed with the meatloaf I don't know if it's low budget meat or too much bread in the mix. I did like how the edges were nicely and evenly cooked. Please don't hate me Niecie. I'm the one who can't make rice.
I ordered through Uber Eats. I ordered 2 meatloaf sandwiches and only got 1. It was dry burnt meatloaf slices slopped onto a slice of soggy bread then covered with a nasty salty brown gravy hardly a sandwich. The mashed potatoes were cold and unseasoned at least there was way too much nasty brown gravy. The Spaghetti was a bowl of mushy over cooked pasta served in a bad red sauce. The spaghetti tasted soapy. At least they wash the dishes? The caramel cake had no flavor to the cake, just sweet flour; the icing was just gritty butter. Absolutely the WORST place I've EVER ordered from. My experience is noteworthy for sure. Noted...I will NEVER order there again.
I'm disappointed, First time there, It was crowded, which made me believe, it's decent food but they probably eating breakfast, I ordered chix & dressing dinner around 12ish, given small portions, greens had unfamiliar taste, barely had dressing which was a bit loose, for dang near $20 on my cheat day, upset. Did call them spoke with Stacy she apologized and offered to comp meal, I'm greatful but........ But maybe it was a bad day.
